Mutske confirmed to me that the cracks in the walls and larger-than-necessary cutouts that extend beyond the window frames is from the TSR batch attempt, not anything she's done. She's still waiting on the next release of the TSR tool. She also mentioned something that I did not notice, which is that the TSR batch tool's fix also affects the wall surface immediately around the window.

Ahh, I'll call that pretty good news since it means items by retired creators will probably get at least one more pass. (Hopefully they'll keep going until they get a result comparable with someone who knows how to do it by hand doing it by hand, at least for the rectangles, whether they made the tool that gives it or not.) Meanwhile I'm mostly wondering whether S4S will be able to fix this or if I'm going to have to remember how to math parabolas. (Or, more likely, eyeball it. I haven't needed quadratic equations since before The Sims 1 came out.)

I'm really curious to see about the next tutorial about round cutout. So far the rectangles cutout had been easy to understand and didn't show any problems, but i spent hours to try to crack the curved one and even if iI came close to it, there are still some small artefacts around the frame...

I'm not sure about the weird artifacts, but I have an uninvestigated suspicion about cracks (coords might be truncated to different decimals for X/Y). But in reply to that tutorial (I couldn't send simovia a msg), there is perhaps a slightly easier way to get coords than guesstimating (or using blender, if you aren't familiar with it). If a person has adobe photoshop (possibly gimp?), you can resize the old png/dds cutout and get coords on mouseover. I haven't tried making anything with more than four edges though, but here's a tiny visual tutorial if anyone is interested in trying in conjunction with simovia's instructions:

Rectangular windows are not a problem, I made plenty since the last update It's the curvy one that are problematic, more specifically the order to put the coordinates. To get the coordinates, you just have to export an obj. of your cutout and open it with a text editor !

rensim What did you hover over in Step 5 to get the coordinates you typed out? I followed everything but that... ...thank you ;D

I mean for you to hover your mouse over the boundary corners of the cutout transparent "hole". The circled 5s have little arrows pointing more precisely to the corners of the example PNG.

Here’s an easy one: is the ETA 2020 or 2021?

szanne7000 Yes, but thank you! However, I'm not sure if you clicked on the link I was discussing or not, but since the window I am so determined to see fixed even if I have to do it myself is a huge half-oval (that was very, very difficult to find), the problem definitely isn't not having access to information on how to do it at all... it's figuring out the coordinates for that monstrosity. XD I will be giving andrew & co's algorithm a shot at it before I even consider it.

Here's the easy answer: yes.

Here’s an easy one: is the ETA 2020 or 2021? Don't rush Andrew to complete the fix, and then dare to get on these forums and complain later about how it's not working right because he felt rushed by the community to get it out. We all have skads of cc windows, doors, and arches that not working right. ALL of us.
Patience.

I just want to say that I'm patiently awaiting the fix. I check here everyday for updates. Programming isnt easy and takes a lot of time and concentration as well as patience. The TSR "updates" that were pushed out do not work. Why they are still making them available is really concerning. They also only updated the individual file downloads and not the "sets". O_o
Thanks for all you do Andrew and S4S team!

szanne7000 Good to know! I'll certainly be looking for good resources if S4S can't tackle that beastie, but it gets the first crack.
