Hey all. I've created a matte lipstick, but for some reason it's glitching out all sim textures when in gameplay. in CAS it looked so good i was able to take thumbnail photos, but as soon as i went to test in game it was borked. Any ideas as to what's causing this? I've included my file and a couple pics of what it's doing. I followed this YouTube Tutorial to do my lipstick, as well as following other general tips i've seen around the forums.. I'm also using GIMP to color, not photoshop. Any help or guidance is super appreciated!! File: MBS Lipstick Package File if you want to have a peek at the file yourself. What it looks like on my sim i went to test it out 1st: I also thought maybe the file I was initially working in was corrupted somehow, so I created a new one from scratch and it's still doing the same thing. Here's what it looks like on the base game Caliente Ladies:

Hi, when testing in game I do see some glitching on the Sims' clothing but much less obvious than your screenshot. First I tried adding a matte specular because I've heard that a blank spec can cause issues, but it didn't help. Then I tried re-saving your texture in Photoshop which fixed it. I know that doesn't help much, but I have no experience with GIMP or its DDS plugin. Are you using the option to generate mipmaps when saving?

Thank you so much! It was how the .dds was saving. I had it in the proper BC3/DXT5 compression, but i didn't think to try messing around with the other options. (I'm quite new to this whole modding thing, and more familiar with photoshop myself, so that didn't help lol)
Generating mipmaps did work, I also had to select "apply gamma correction" and "preserve alpha test coverage" I tested both with and without those 2 other mipmap options selected, and the WITH was the much better option, a lot more crisp and clean. So thank you again, my friend!
I hope with enough fooling around with Gimp & being a Mac user, I can put out some tutorials for other Gimp & Mac users. Not a lot exist out there, and most instructions are similar with just itty bitty tweaks lol. (:
