I've jumped in the deep end and I'm trying to make my very first mod. It's a fishing mod that will hopefully allow you to 'only' catch fish when fishing and not upgrade parts and all the other stuff you can catch. Just plain old fish.
I thought it'd be fairly simple to do (uh huh). I thought there'd be a loot list somewhere with a list of all the things you can catch when fishing and I figured I'd just remove all the non-fish listings and viola!
But for the life of me, I can't find anything like a loot list for fishing. I think the thing I'm looking for is some kind of 'Action Tuning'. But I've had no luck so far.
So if anybody has any idea what this file is called, or even if such a thing exists, I'd really appreciate it if you could point me in the right direction

Hi, I'd take a look at the snippet/fishingData_ files. Unfortunately, it seems like there's a unique snippet for every single fishing hole per world, so it isn't a quick fix.
I think the "possible_treasures" section of these files would be of the most interest to you, which is what appears to list the non-fish objects you can catch, as well as the "weight_junk" and "weight_treasure" sections, which appear to control the likelihood of a Sim catching junk or treasure.

Thank you so much Waitingforsappho! That's it! This is what I've been looking for I'm going to try changing just one of the fishing holes and see what happens. Just a quick question, if I change the weight base values to 0, like so: <L n="possible_treasures"> <U> <T n="treasure">22678</T> <U n="weight"> <T n="base_value">0</T> </U> Will that do the trick? I'm guessing that the 'weight' represents your chance of catching treasure (the higher the value, the higher your chances) but I'm not completely sure. Thank you again for replying. I think you've saved me from going blind (I've spent hours trying to find the right files).

Haha! It worked! I've set all the treasure and junk base_values and modifiers to 0 and so far, the only thing I'm catching is fish. It's wonderful! I've only done Brindleton Bay so far, but now that I know what to do, I'll slowly work my way through the rest of them
