myobi regarding the code part. I think you have some browser addon installed, so it includes this comment in the post. I'll try to take a look at shadow file later, may I'll get an idea why is this happening. At the first glance everything seems normal and should works as expected...

myobi I didn't pay an attention when looked at the first time on your file. Turns out it is cas sort number that is preventing your shadow to lay over skintones with composition method set to 0. You use number 2100, and the same number is used by custom skin detail so it either"sends" your eyeshadow under texture of skin detai, or just cancel due to conflict (I am clueless how it work in case of the same sort layer numbers for 2 cas assets). Changing CAS sort level from 2100 to 5200 for each CAS part totally fixes it. EA's eyeshadow also use 5200 as sort layer.

Oh, you're right!! S4S clones the eyeshadow and gives it the sort layer of 2100 automatically. I just never changed it, because it seemed to work for some swatches. I wonder if playing around with the composition method of the skin detail would make it layer under tattoos. [ Also I have no idea what the script stuff is that appears, but it only appears when I post at the same time as listening to Youtube? IDK

I edited your post for the easiness of reading . The code said "mytubeelement", so you might be right. Regarding tattoos. The only way to make them work with custom skins with composition method set to 0 is to clone EA's tattoo (choose override) and change composition method to 0. By default black EA's tattoos have composition method 1, colored tattoos comp.method is 0, so they will appear on top of skin detail. Custom skin details with composition method set to 0 don't blend with makeup and tattoos. If you change composition method to higher number for skin detail like Candice skin by FRS, it will look completely different not in a good way. What I do if some of newly downloaded CC doesn't work with custom skin details, I change composition method to 0 for each CAS part swatch. By the way, you mentioned that Studio switches sort layer to 2100 when you clone eyeshadow. What eyeshadow do you clone, and what version of Studio do you have? It didn't happen with my file when I cloned eyeshadow to check sort layer, so I am super curious how did it happen with your file. P.s. Disregard my question, I figured what file was that. I wonder if there is more eyeshadow with the same sort layer as skin details.

I’m sorry to bring up this old topic. If I am understand this correctly, say we have two CAS items, and. both composition methods are set to 0, the CAS item with the greater sort value number will be the one that is on top?

@wj , no, list doesn't need an update. All EA's lipsticks have 5500 sort layer number. Creators can change this number to whatever they want to change to adjust sort layer for their own content. But to be honest I don't see any purpose of it.

I'm not sure if this information is still accurate. I'm looking at the Base Game facepaint in the Sims 4 Studio right now and they're all showing up as 7500, not 9000. :-/

I just noticed in the SortLayer list that Face Paint SortLayer number here isn't corect. EA's Face Paint CAS Part SortLayer is 7500 and not 9000. as mentioned above by a few different people...EA's sort list may be 7500, but whoever you downloaded CC from probably customized their content to 9000 or a different number,

Thanks Feyona for correcting the list. i never said it was right, did i? i only gave you the proper/relevant information; that whoever you download from or you, yourself, probably set the numbers to a different sort layer. you may not 'like' 9000, but if it works for some people, they are more than welcome to try messing around with their layers. the list is just a guidance for people trying to make content. you are more than welcome to play around with the layers, rather than snap at others of us just chatting away. good luck getting help

But the number for facepaint 9000 was wrong. That's all I was pointing out. Many people use this list for orientation and therefore may use the wrong number 9000 for facepaint in their creations, because this is what it said here. What some people do with their creations afterwards is up to them as long as the list here gives correct data. The list is publicly available and should therefore contain correct information. Again, I only pointed out that this number 9000 was wrong and is not what EA use for facepaint. I have not reacted snappishly in this area, nor have I looked for help.
Your snippy comment here is therefore completely unnecessary.
Ladies, please no fights . EA used to use 9000 number, that's why it was on the list. They also use different sort layer number for one of the shadows, at least they used it 2 years ago. They keep changing things without informing creators.
