Hello! I had such a problem with the appearance of the new version of S4S (version joy) and CAS / Mesh Tools too. Previously, when you export a mesh of CAS / Mesh Tools in S4S had no problems. And now I get here is that, while translating the mesh of CAS / Mesh Tools in S4S:

Hi nastasya, welcome to the forum. This is not a S4S issue, it's because the latest version of CAS Tools has changed the way it works. If you open your .package with s4pe instead of S4S, you'll see the same thing: just a CAS part. It seems that CAS Tools now only clones the CAS Part and doesn't include the mesh and textures in the .package as it used to. My guess is that this was probably to avoid having redundant resources in the .package. It would be best to ask about this in Cmar's CAS Tools thread at MTS, to ask if it is still possible to make a full clone that does contain the meshes and textures: www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=532867

Hi nastasya, welcome to Studio forums. This problem is occurring because the latest versions of CASTools only includes things in the .package if you export them and reimport them. There are a couple ways to get around the problem. First, you could just export and reimport all the resources you want to be able to edit using CASTools. This will cause CASTools to include those resources in the .package so you can then open that .package and make edits to them using Studio. This is sort of a tedious process but it will work. Second, I wrote a tutorial showing the easier way to accomplish your project and posted that here: sims4studio.com/thread/2157/recolor-remesh-items-castools-milkshape. This tutorial goes over what I believe is the best way for people to go about doing things if they plan to use CASTools/Milkshape and Studio together. Basically: - If you are making a recolor you should use Studio to make your clone and then do your recolor.
- If you are making a new mesh item and you want to use Blender to make the mesh you should use Studio to make your clone, create your new mesh, and do the recolors.
- If you are making a new mesh and you want to use Milkshape to make the mesh you should use Studio to make your clone, open the .package in CASTools and do the mesh work, close the .package and reopen it in Studio, and do your recolors using Studio.
- If you have already made the .package by cloning it with CAS Tools you can put that .package into your Documents/Sims 4 Studio/Mods folder, clone it as custom content, and then use this clone of your item to make your recolors. Once you've made the clone of your own custom content you can throw the original that has only a CASPart in it away...Studio will have made a new .package for you that contains all the resources you need to edit.

orangemittens, Thank you very much. But it turns out need to change the normal map is in TS4 CAS / Mesh Tools, and everything else (retekstura, shadow and specular) in S4S?

Sims 4 Studio is able to allow you to change the normal(bump) map. To do so you need to clone your custom content item using the Create 3D mesh button. The reason is because EA put the bump map in the Geometry resource. If you do not clone the entire mesh you will not have the bump map in the .package. Any recolor that requires changing the bump map should be cloned using the Create 3D mesh button. No matter which tool you use if your .package is going to contain a bump map you need to also include the mesh.

You're welcome. I will update my tutorial so that it makes this more clear.
