What about all those EA dopshadows people sell with their CC? Isn't all their work technically illegal? If so, do people only do it because it goes unnoticed? The very fact that s4s doesnt allow us to change them almost forces us to use the default.

I'm not sure why you made a second post about the same subject, nor why you're so concerned about the drop shadows in particular, but
a) It's impossible to ever make any kind of custom content for The Sims 4 without using any of EA's property, because EA owns the code that allows custom content to be recognized by and function in the game. Without that code, all you'd have would be 3d models and image files sitting uselessly in your mods folder, not working custom content in your game.
b) EA doesn't permit selling custom content at all. They only permit selling special treatment, such as early access of no more than three weeks, better download options, the ability to make suggestions or vote on what a creator does next, etc. The custom content itself must be free.
Taking those two things into account, I don't see why you'd need to be more concerned about drop shadows than the code that makes it possible to even have CC. Either you are following EA's TOU, and they have no problem with it (as should be obvious from the fact that they themselves just paid several CC creators, many of whom do charge for early access to their CC, to make items for the game's anniversary), or you are not following their TOU, and not using their drop shadows wouldn't change that.

thats what i thought, actually... i figured that the coding might also be an issue, but then i saw this, and so it made me think that perhaps ea only cares abt the originality of meshes/textures. so, it just makes me question... if even the coding of a cc package is ea property, at what point is it monetization of their ip, and at what point is it not? they say its fine as long as you don't defame their brand or whatever, but the majority of mods don't even do that, even during the time they made this statement.
