Yesterday’s patch brought a dishwasher, custom content counters that wouldn’t work with it, and a Studio batch fix that was incomplete and borky. Today brings a batch fix that has worked on all 60 plus counters it’s been tested on and that will not cause the dishwasher to believe it belongs sitting on the counter.
It is in Studio v. 2.5.1.6 (Joy) to avoid any confusion with the broken version that was in Studio 2.5.1.5.
The counter batch fix was the first object batch fix Studio has done and we’ve learned a thing or two about batch fixing objects that should be quite helpful in the future if more object batch fixes are needed. It’s actually a little more involved than expected.
Before using the new batch fix, anyone that has already run the old one should restore all the original batch “fixed” items to their Sims 4/Mods folder. This is how to do that:
Open your Documents/Sims 4 Studio/Batch Fix folder. If you have run more than one batch fix there will be multiple entries there. Find the one that is dated with the date you ran the counter batch fixer and open it. Inside you will find two folders and inside each there will be .packages. Copy the contents of both folders and paste it into your Sims 4/Mods folder so it overwrites the .packages that are in there.
This will restore your content to exactly how it was before you ran the counter batch fixer. Now you’re ready to run the updated batch fixer that will actually perform a batch fix on your counters.
We really appreciate the people who reported that the batch fixer wasn’t working and that they did so soon enough that many, many people didn’t download the thing and end up with the same aggravation they themselves experienced. A huge thank you especially to Martine for the files she sent. Thank you also to everyone for your patience and an apology to everyone who tried the old fixer and had the annoying experience of having it not work and make their counters stop accepting sinks.
If anyone runs into a counter that is resistant to this batch fix or any odd behavior from counters or dishwasher interactions with counters please let us know. We really want to get this working and believe that this update should get the job done.
