Hi all, I just wanted to ask if anyone else is having problems with the build/buy after the 3/23 update. Doors, windows, columns, fences, stairs, plants, and buy items aren't able to be placed regardless of whether it's a cc or game item. Also these: Window catalog has door icons Doors have window items And terrain tools looking like this

Do you have any mods that change the UI? (UI cheats, column mods, sorting mods, etc)

Same problem here, I don't know what's up with that since the update isn't about redesigning the build/buy mode. I cannot even select something, everytime i click on an item nothing happens, the icon of the selected object doesn't turn green.

Ok, so after a few trys like turning on and off the cc content and removing some mods, I found out that the file tmex-ExpandableCatalog.package is responsible for the build/buy bug. If you have that mod remove it from your Mods folder, maybe the creator will update it soon.

I just download the Better Build Buy a few days ago so will have to take that out and see if it fixes the problem. Thank you!

Happy to report that TMex's Better Build Buy was the culprit and my game is good again.

It is extremely common for UI (user interface, i.e. the code that determines how the menus and catalogs and so on look, what stuff you can click on and what it does, etc.) mods to need updating after a patch, since EA makes changes to the UI very often, and Better Build/Buy is no exception. An updated version has already been released, so if you download the updated version it should work again.
The smartest course of action for anyone who isn't at least somewhat experienced with troubleshooting mods to take when a patch comes out is to remove ALL mods from their game until the creator of each mod either confirms that it has been tested with the patch and is working, or releases an updated version. (Waiting to patch until most or all mods have already been cleared or updated, deleting and redownloading the ones that have been updated, and removing the few that haven't been cleared or updated yet, works too.) Even folks who are experienced troubleshooters don't normally test every mod themselves; some folks may choose to immediately patch and test specific mods in order to help contribute their knowledgeable observations to the patch-day (and after) reports of what is working and what needs updating, but most just give modders and testers some time to work so that they only need to test stuff with inactive or less-active creators (or their own work).
