I don't even know what's going on here, I'm getting a little pissed at this project. So I'm trying to convert a dress from another game, I fitted it but the body was bugging so I removed the sim-parts, so if you're looking at the mesh I attached here, don't mind that it doesn't fit. No, my problem seems to be the texture. I don't understand what I've done wrong, when I merge the groups the texture comes out like the picture below. I tried to import the mesh anyway in my .package file but somehow it came out transparent(without textures too). I actually didn't save the package, so it's just a sim-body. Sorry about that. Any help is appreciated. EDIT: I completely forgot to share the file..oops! www.simfileshare.net/download/2437410/

Hi. Before merging, make sure the uv maps have the same names. It should be uv_0 and uv_1, no caps. If they are the same, share the blend file please

I've tried renaming the uv maps but it doesn't work. I still can't figure it out.

Yes, it is the name of the map. Select the garment and rename it to uv_0, then join them. If it does not work, then you must have done something wrong. That said, you should be doing that after you transfer weights, uvs, vertex paint, and delete all parts of the body covered by clothing

I haven't transferred the weights yet, but I think I got the textures to work, thank you! I'm doing this while looking at tutorials and the weight part seems a bit confusing. Why is it important to do the weights before the textures? I got the textures to work now, so do I need to undo that to do the weights?

It is important to do weights before "joining the garment with the body", not the "the textures". If you will join the dress with the body, then transfer weights from another dress, the weights in the finger area and where the skirt ends and legs start will not transfer right.

Okay, that makes sense, thanks again! I'll give it a try, just one more question though - I use a simple swimsuit body as "base", so to speak. In blender it has three groups, one is the body, one is the ankles and one is the feet(I think). Should I just join my dress mesh with the "body" group? Or can I merge all three groups?

No, can't merge all three. Just with the body
