Hello, I'm trying to make a functional sewing machine + sewing machine table. The table is just a desk, but I'm trying to get the sewing machine (which functions as a computer) to sit on a very specific part of the table. Is this possible? I tried moving the mesh of the desk back a bit, and tried moving the mesh of the sewing machine as well, but the footprint just automatically fixes it. I've also tried to move the large slot on the desk but it doesn't seem to work. Any advice?

Can you share your package?
I can't tell you 100% how to fix this as I'm still learning how to make custom content myself (Honestly, the more I learn the more I realize how much I do not know. Ugh). But, looking at a one-tile desk, there are slots for decorations, but there is also a slot for a drink, for food, for a chair, etc. There's a slot called _ctnm_sitIndividual_0 that you could try moving. There's also another slot called _ctnm_sitShared_0. Both of these slots are located about where a computer would go. You'd have to experiment a little but I'd try the _ctnm_sitIndividual_0 slot first. The thing about slots is that they can serve more purposes than just holding decorations, so I would immediately rule out the obvious slots such as the deco slots and the chair slot, as well as the ones for food and drink. There's an _FX_ slot that is used for...well...effects, obviously. You could try that one.
I really do think you should share your package file, however.

Thank you for replying, I decided to stop toying with it and just find a way to shift the meshes so they'd fit. But if anyone DOES know what slot corresponds to computer placement, it'd be helpful to know!
