Hello!
I'm at a loss, and I've spent nearly half a day going through threads and possible fixes and troubleshoots to try and fix this. I would not be here if this weren't a last resort so please don't @ me that I didn't do the troubleshoot first, I did.
Also please read my entire post thoroughly if you're going to give a go at helping me with my problem, as it will eliminate how much I have to repeat myself. Thank you!!
With that being said I'm on Windows 10 and when S4S opens it gives me a box that says
"Unable to find The Sims 4. Please configure your game path."
I click ok. and a new box opens showing me the file paths.
None of them are incorrect. They all look right..
(except maybe blender because I don't have that installed. Could this be my problem?? I truly didn't think so but I would download blender if it would fix this)
Anyway, I click the file path selector [...] and select the correct file path just in case.
I select the path C:/Program Files (x86)/Origin Games/The Sims 4/
and I am greeted with a box that says "An error has occurred. Please report this. Thanks "
The first time this happened to me, I looked it up and saw others had this issue in the past and that the resolve was to create exceptions within antivirus, so I looked up how to do that and went through all the steps. I have exceptions granted for S4S & The Sims 4 just in case either one was causing the issue.
However, I'm still having the error message.
Okay, so I tried uninstalling and reinstalling S4S, and re-doing the exceptions and I'm still getting the error message after selecting the correct (was already correct..) file path..
EDIT: I've also been running as admin, and am still getting the same error message.
Does anyone have any insight as to why I'm getting this error repeatedly? I can open old/other peoples cc via the "My Projects" tab, but I am unable to create anything new as the list with the Item Catalogue is totally blank. I'm not seeing Base Game items or CC items when I try clicking on CAS, Build, or Object buttons...
I greatly appreciate anyone willing to help me out with fix advice. <3
This was solved in the thread if you're having the same problem please read!
Special thanks to mauvemorn.
