Before you bake the texture, make sure to split the sharp edges where the holes used to be at the top, bottom and shoulder areas. Speaking of, when closing holes, first, collapse them with Alt M instead of just scaling down, second, always unwrap newly created geometry. Also, after transferring weights, make sure to use Limit total.
