Hello. So, I have recently downloaded some furniture recolors for the game. When I go into the game, I see that they are standalone recolors, meaning that the objects appear as totally new objects and not just as more color swatches for the objects that exist. This gives the effect in buy mode of looking like I have 2 of the exact same items, which I do not want. I have generally downloaded CC recolors that are not standalone and those just simply add more color swatches to the already existing item, which is exactly what I want. So, is there any way to fix this?? Or is it just a matter of getting lucky? Thanks for any help. I am extremely new to S4S.

I did a Google search and it looks like you'd have to make an override for the EA chair you want to add swatches to. THIS THREAD may be of some help to you.

There is a way to fix it, but I'm not sure how difficult it might seem if you are new to S4S. With S4S open, type Ctrl+Shift+C to bring up the cheat console. Type "object-preview." This will allow you to look at the game files without making a new package. Stretch the program window out horizontally. Find the original chair object and switch to the Warehouse tab on the right. Click on any of the Object Catalog lines and scroll down in the far right window until you find the PrototypeID number and copy this number. Close the object preview window and open the recolor package in S4S. Paste the ID number you copied into every Object Catalog in your recolor package. Then all the recolors will show up under the original catalog entry. In my testing the recolors showed up before the originals, but I'm not sure how to change that. If that doesn't bother you then this method will work for your needs.

When I type it into the window, it says, "cheat code not found." I am using the Mac version of Sims4Studio.

I wanted to circle back and say that I was able to actually use your advice and figure out how to fix them. I just needed to basically act like I was going to make a new package to get to the prototype ID of the original object and then once I got the prototype ID, I just deleted the new package file I made. Then followed your instructions of replacing the prototype ID on the recolors with the ID I copied from the original object and it worked like a charm. Thank you so much!!
