What is the best method for making a crystal in the sims that look like the ones in-game? Not sure if anyone knows, but any help would be wonderful

Handdrawn textures are the key. Basically, you need to know how to draw the texture like that. The mesh is super simple.

On youtube you can find some tutorials that explain how to make stylized crystals using blender. After getting there, you'd need to bake the result. This is,however, not exactly a beginner friendly task, so adjusting the existing textures might be a better choice

Thank you, I wasn’t sure if there was something I had to do in blender to get the effect. I should be able to hand draw textures, because I’ve been handrawing most of my textures for the past couple years. Thank you though!

I usually use real textures for my crystals, I've never worried about baking in Blender because the texture has the shadows already. It can be tricky to make them work tho, and the most important bit after that is finding the right colour grey for the spec shine. Once you find it keep a copy for future uses. I these came out the best Crystal Cluster

I these came out the best Crystal Cluster Dang, I'm looking through your stuff and while they aren't particularly stylized there's a lot of cool looking crystals. Do they shimmer as you move the camera like the in-game ones? Or are they flat?

Thank you, they don't shimmer as such but the light does move/flow across them as I move the camera, but that's the work of a glass shader and a perfect Spec map. The shader is 'GlassForObjectsTranslucent'. Adding vertex paint also adds a bit va-va-voom, the game crystals have been painted which is where I got the idea
