Did it work? Perhaps you already know this but you'll need to fix the UV map so that you can texture it. Edit: the problem with decimate is that it wrecks the topology which can make it hard to mark your seams for UV unwrapping. I usually go through my mesh and use dissolve edges but in your case the chair was so high-poly that it would take hours to go through and remove seams. Using decimate will create some challenges when marking seams. Just be aware of that. i was having the exact same problem as him, and you helped me a lot too. thank you
