I've been making a few of my characters in sims, and one top I've had downloaded for awhile fit perfectly in CAS. Went into the real game, however, and zooming out it completely evaporates the torso and arms of the character. So I went to look to see if the creator has fixed it, but they haven't. Fine, I'll do it myself - except... I have run into issues.
The content, for reference, that I'm trying to fix: sims4marigold.blogspot.com/2015/07/malesexy-sleeveless-top.html
So, I opened it up in S4S. I saw something online that pointed to it being a LOD issue. Followed these two tutorials: here and here
However, even when I've decimated it down to about ~1000 faces, it's still not loading in even as LOD 1. Gives me this error:
The Sims 4 Studio - Version 3.1.5.4

Any ideas what I might be doing wrong and how to fix it? I'd like to get it fixed so I can also maybe try my hand at slightly altering the neckline a bit, as well, for another one of my characters, which should be fairly simple if I just open up the textures and alter it there, I think- It's been awhile but I used to play with recolouring meshes for IMVU when I was younger so I could probably figure this out. If there's any guides on that, though, that you all know of that would be nice to get a link for, too.
Thank you all in advance and thanks for reading even if you don't have an answer for me, have a lovely day all!
