My object is transparent and I have no idea why, I've messed with the mesh, the specular maps, everything. I have no idea what's wrong. Here's the package so you can see for yourself. www.simfileshare.net/download/2762956/

Hi. If my memory serves me well, you need to change SSAOIntensity. Check Bakie's reply in this thread

Hi. If my memory serves me well, you need to change SSAOIntensity. Check Bakie's reply in this threadI tried it and it didn't work lol. I also realized its on all objects I've made in the new version of s4s, so idk what to do, I give up :,)

You missed something. You need to do this for all LODs, groups, swatches and states.

zwhsims, I just checked your laundry machine in the game and it looks fine to me. It's not transparent, at all. It's something on your end. Maybe your game's graphic settings. It might be an issue with your Nvidia card.
And you had another issue that was a graphics card problem, too, though maybe you didn't see this response to your post.

Fwecka (Lolabellesims) , SSAO is disabled in your settings, I guess. This item does have a so-called transparency issue.

Yeah, I do have it turned off, you're right. If I changed it myself, I don't remember doing so, though that means nothing. My memory is terrible.
If turning off Antialiasing is all that's needed to eliminate transparency issues, why not just turn off antialiasing? Antialiasing is supposed to soften edges but I haven't seen any issues graphically in the game.

Wait, what does anti-aliasing have to do with it? Have you confused SSAA and SSAO?

Well, the way to fix the transparency is to turn off antialiasing fix, right? Have I confused SSAA and SSAO? Probably.
Where would I have SSAO turned off? In my game's settings? I don't see any setting related to ambient occlusion except possibly Post Processing Effects which I do have checked. Ugh. Clearly, I'm misunderstanding something.

To globally fix the transparency problem and remove the ugly shading, we disable SSAO in the GraphicsRules.sgr file. This doesn't apply to anti-aliasing in any way. Just google SSAO and SSAA (or FSAA).

Oh, okay. I've never done anything with that file. In fact, it has SSAO enabled, though I didn't go through the entire file to check. I read about it some time ago. Naturally, I'd forgotten about it. I'm old. You darn kids are too smart for me!

I tried that but what the thread linked to to fix it didn't look the same, so I couldn't follow the tutorial. I do see some stuff that I can try in this thread though, so I'll try those first

What tutorial did you have trouble following? The information from this thread? I'm sure I can walk you through whatever you're confused about.

Well, if you're having the same problem with every single thing you make then I think, logically, it's an issue with your computer somehow. It could be that you need to alter the game's GraphicsRules.sgr file or you need to use NvidiaInspector to make a change, or it's something to do with your PC's video card. Maybe you need to update your drivers? Run Chckdisk? I don't know. I didn't see any transparency in your laundry machine. I haven't even touched my GraphicsRules.sgr file; I do not have SSAO disabled. I can't replicate your problem. Do you have access to another machine in your house? You can try cloning something on another computer, reimport the mesh and textures, and check it in the game (on another machine, I mean) and see if the problem shows up. If there's no problem, that would indicate it's a problem with your computer. If you've disabled SSAO and used NvidiaInspector to make that change per the link I included above, and you're still having issues then perhaps it's time to look at your computer and see what's going on.Let's see if we can pin down this problem. I turned off SSAOIntensity in every LOD and in all variants in this file. Download it, stick in your game, and see if the problem persists. Then post back and let me know what happens.
