Hellooooooooo , So i wanted a glass totally see through floor and since i couldn't find a single one for sims 4 base game and after messing around couple of weeks with several files and pocking my eyes out reading / watching tutorials ( google is your best friend after all ) , i 've manage to have a nice success and got my nice see through floor object/tile ( eh no one is prefect :D ) . BUT i realized that i also needed other shapes in order to make it fit around places that didn't need or want the see through floor ( a pool for example ) . So i did something that everyone would do , modified the model to that shape ( one at the moment ) with 0 success and here is where the problem is .... Althose i did manage to modify the model / mesh to a half triangle and it does have the pattern i want , the other half is not solid and it is just a big blank hole to the floor/pool top . So i got something like this : The package that i am happy about : link
The package that i can't make it work : linkIf anyone has any ideas on how to fix that and keep on going for my next shapes i would appreciate it a lot . thank you for your time <3

As far as I remember, Syboulette has several BG sets of skylights. Minc also has one.

Yes i found the syboulette's skylights but i wanted a crystal clear with no frame around it and i saw that syboulette doesn't allow her projects to be modified ( just recolored and with out using the mesh ) and also they where only decorative while mine is functional ( you can order your sim to go there atm but i will probably add more functions :P ) so i started to messing around on how i can archive what i need with my own project .
Well in my mind i had a success cause just right now i manage to do exactly what i wanted and it was kinda stupid easy ....
All i had to do was to go to footprint -> objectPolygons -> PointList and simply remove the 1 correct point ( a reference to anyone that might want to do something similar ) .... Well you have to figure it out what point is the correct one but it's easy cause it's just 4 trial and error :D .
So from my behalf that is a solved situation and thank you all for your reply <3

As I was reading this, I was thinking along the lines of maybe the footprint needed some editing and I've seen other posts about ObjectPolygons but I don't know what that pertains to. Do you know?

Why would you modify Syb's skylights? I just suggested that you examine them and understand that: 1. Y coordinates are inverted. 2. Coordinates can go both counterclockwise and clockwise. Also, you don't need a custom tuning for sims to interact with your floor. You can do this: 1. Make the Tuning and TuningId fields empty. 2. The U2 checkbox must have a checkmark instead of a black fill. After these changes, Sims will interact with your item as they would with this one from IL. However, it's up to you how to customize your item. I just have no idea what new interactions can be added to the glass floor.

I am sorry for late response ( when i am doing a project i get lost sometimes ) . If you are asking about the point list , by removing the 1 point that i needed it actually changed the footprint from a square to a triangle , since i wanted basically a triangle that worked fine for me . Now if you want a half square you will need to remove 2 points . As i said it's trial and error ( you need to try and figure it out ) . <3

qolygonal I did say that i wanted the edges to be also see through ( that wooden frame syb got around the window ) and i couldn't use syb's items to get what i wanted with out modifying them , something that i am not allowed to do so . Still that worked on my behalf cause i made my own project and i got exactly what i wanted . I wanted that : linkAs for what you can add more to a floor , owh well that depends what you have as an idea in your head and i wanted to add the dance option too . The whole idea was a see through floor for a roof pool . I will post images when i will finish everything that i have in my head ..... Thank you for your time

Okay, gotcha. Or am I misunderstanding this? Sorry, it's past my bedtime. My brain's shut down currently.

Yes the vertices of a flat object in this case . To be honest i don't know what that will do in a 3d object ( something like a table ) but i guess i will find out eventually :P . <3

I like these! Are you planning to release them to the masses when finished?

Owh i didn't realize that someone may want them since they are other out there but yeah there you go : The Floorand The corner
You can find them both typing CC in the search bar <3 . Now keep in mind that it is an object not an actual floor so i 've made 1x1 but it is repeatable and color able and if you want , also you can rotate it to change the pattern orientation and the second file is a corner mesh to fit in weird angles . I didn't make anything about round platforms and i just realize that i may have to do it eventually but for now i am working on spiral stairs so that can wait since it is not my priority :P . If you want to make it part opaque and part transparent all you have to do is to make the dds file part opaque and part transparent . If you don't know how you can poke me to tell you . Now it also goes with out saying that i do not want to see that uploaded in to pay to play pages or behind spam advertisement links or someone claiming it for its own cause althose it was partially simple still it kinda took me 20 days to do it :P . Also i couldn't care less for the mesh ( like come on a flat square and a triangle ) but i care deeply for the tuning cause it took me like 7 days to figure it out how i am going to put down that dance option (and when i say days i mean 16 h per day reading endlessly codes and tutorials - no tutorial exist for what i did tho - ) sooooooooooo do not include the tuning in future remodels i suppose ? :P . I don't know it's my first public creation :P . Have fun <3 .

Thank you I am also a creator so I get that you don't want these shared around, I only post here and I promise that I will use these for personal use only. Tuning can be a real swine to get to grips with. I am still learning and will watch videos that I understand. I learnt to change text strings thanks to bakie. Can't wait to test the floors ingame thanks again

No problem at all . This tuning was more than a swine , for me at least , since i do not have any experience with anything of the game files and the variables that they are used in it , there for many things are still confusing me ... Considering though that i just have started ( 20 days max ? I don't remember to be honest :P )i feel a little bit proud for my self :P , so it was well worth time spent :P . Hope you have lot's of fun with it and if you do any more swatches i would love to see them <3 .
Out of topic :
Out of curiosity doesn't anyone has a discord server , for creators and for other people learning to create , that people can gather up and share knowledge ? Or it is a mine field out there ? I do know that some creators get donations about those stuff but still they do tutorials that equals to anyone can have a go for it , so why not a discord channel ? Just out of curiosity :D <3 .
