I have installed the game on my home PC and was able to place the CC folder into an external HD & have the game path actually going to my D drive saving my PC storage space. It works fine and as normal as it should.
So, since I have all my CC on an external HD (D:), I wanted to work on some CC during my lunch hour at work, taking my external HS to work, I installed Sims 4 Studio on my PC at work and have all my CC on the external, but because the game isn't installed on my work PC, the studio isn't able to locate the mods folder. I have changed the path in settings, but still nothing. Is there a way I can use Studio without installing the game on my work PC?
Hope that makes sense, I did do a thread search, but found nothing. Sorry if this was asked before.
Thanks in advance

Hi. What exactly do you need to do with cc? 1). If edit your own packages: You just open them through My projects, no need in Mods folder or the game; 2). If edit the Mods folder content through My CC: Try copying your Electronic arts (C:\Users\_____\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4) folder on your external drive as well. Then, at work, change s4s Mods path to this location on the external drive. If this won't work, try putting only Electronic arts folder on your pc. 3). If create new cc by cloning maxis items: You cannot do this without the game files. I did not quite get if you also have the game on the external drive, but this would be the solution. s4s, the game and Electronic arts folder on the external drive should work. Paths should all lead to those locations on the external drive, make sure the endings look like this

Thank you for your prompt response. I don't have the game on the external, it's actually installed on my PC at home. The CC I want to edit is my own packages I have been working on. I got it by clicking on My Projects (DUH - I didn't realize). Anyway, thank you.... I got it
