Hello hello! I'm taking a 3D modelling and animation course. We're in the rigging section of the curriculum at school and I decided to take a look at the animation rig from Sims 4 Studio. Currently, the joints are being used to manipulate the model. Typically, you would hide the joints from the animator and place visual controllers on the model instead. Touching the joints can cause some serious issues while animating. Controllers are also easier to grab than joints, and can be made in many shapes and sizes. Here is an example: The current rig also allows the animator to adjust the translate and scale values of all the joints. This can mess up the alignment of joints unless they're used for IK joints. I would like to make a set of controllers to make animating easier, and have it available to others as well. I'm more familiar with Maya than Blender, however, and I don't know how to navigate the current animation blender export from Sims 4 Studio to add controllers. I could download the model and build the joints and rig from scratch myself, but I thought I would ask here first. If I can adjust the joints, I would like to add IK legs and FK arms, as well as an IK foot roll.

There are a few controller/helper rigs available, but they aren't what I'd call the most 'impressive' beasts out there. So it is possible to add the kind of rigging control you're suggesting. I'd be interested in seeing what you come up with as I've tried a few times to add custom controls to this rig myself.
That being said, select the rig and click the armature icon on the far right directly under the outliner. You see a list of names below. Click 'sticks'. With a normal blender rig, this would give you a basic stick figure. In the case of a TS4 rig, it'll only enlarge the joints in edit mode. (At a guess, I'm probably already telling you stuff you've figured out on your own.) Your best potion for this kind of help might be searching YouTube for blender rigging/character rigging in blender.

I would love for you to try it. I'm currently trying to learn how to use blender... And it's been difficult for me to add controllers to the Rig of the sims
