Hi,
I'm new to the forum and new to the sims4studio. I can't add the addon on blender. I always have this error message:
I'm not sure if I'm doing this correctly but I couldn't find a clear tutorial on this. Can anyone help me?
Thank you in advance .

Try checking this Edit: I can't find the post right now. But, if I remember correctly, in your app data folder you should have this folder structure: users > (your name) > app data > roaming > Blender Foundation > Blender > (your Blender version) > scripts > addons > s4studio Inside the s4studio folder you should see this: I think that's probably the issue I'm having - I have the C:\users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.78\scripts\addons\ which has a _pycache_ folder and the io.sims.py file, but no S4Studio folder or any of the files you're showing here. That never got added. It looks like that's actually a folder stored in the Sims4Studio\Blender\Scripts where io_sims.py originally came from. I copied it over that folder and plopped it into my C:\users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.78\scripts\addons\ then moved _pycache_ into there as well.

Could you open that folder that is in the path in the error and check if io_sims.py is there? You could also try running blender as admin and then enable the plugin

Wait, you must turn on Sims 4 Studio Blender tools, not Library. The library stays turned off Were you able to turn on this addon? Do you have this field?

You simply do not enable sims 4 studio library, just ignore it. The problem is that now you do not even have sims 4 studio blender tools in the list. You are not meant to be putting the plugin or enabling it by yourself, the process is automatic. When you set the path in s4s settings to the installation location of blender, it puts the plugin itself. Next time you open the blender, the plugin is already enabled. The problem is that your system does not allow blender to accept that plugin, it seems. Do it this way: - add s4s installation folder, the .exe file, s4s folder in My documents in the exceptions in your antivirus. If you do not have a third party one, add to Microsoft defender. Do not disable antivirus instead; - give s4s installation folder the permission to do everything (explained in both replies) - open s4s as admin, change the path to the installation folder of blender 2.76b again to repeat the action of putting a plugin there; - open blender and check if it has the plugin.

Hi, thank you for your answer. I've tried to do that but it doesn't work :-(. I've tried to uninstall blender and sims 4 studio to install them on my drive C and create C:\users\[nom d'utilisateur]\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.76\scripts\addons and put io.sims.py. But I don't have the folder -pycache_ in sims4studio folder:-( maybe the problem is here? Thank you again. Have a nice monday.

Roaming serves a completely different purpose and is created automatically, you must not install anything there yourself. However, your system may not create that folder itself. - uninstall s4s and blender; - delete all s4s and blender folders on your pc. If you have cc cleaner, you can clean your register as well; - create a folder on your d drive called TS4 programs and install s4s and blender into this folder; - open s4s as admin, change the path to the installation folder of blender 2.76b, save; - open blender and check if s4studio cas tools has appeared; - if not, close blender and s4s, go to C:\Users\----\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.76\scripts\addons\. If it does not look like this, download this .zip, open "addons" folder inside of it, select 3 folders, and move them into C:\Users\----\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.76\scripts\ addons\ - then open blender again and check if s4studio cas tools has appeared

Could you please tell what exactly helped? Pasting the files from the zip?
You cannot open the package through blender, you need to open the package in s4s ( s4s’s main menu - My projects), then extract the blend files (in Mesh tab) which you can then open in blender.
