Hello! I'm working on a custom canning recipe. I got the texture done, but I'm not really sure what to do with the Warehouse portion. Can I just follow a custom food tutorial or does it need something different?

i make custom recipes so hopefully I can point you in the right direction. Personally, I didn't use a tutorial to learn as i found them more confusing than what was necessary and it's much simpler once you get the hang of it. I'm also assuming you have some experience using s4s and know about renaming & tuning ids.
you should first clone a canning recipe from the game, review the recipe & simdata tunings, then make your changes. depending on what you're canned food is, you can change all the recipe phases to fit your item. for example: if it's a tomato based recipe you can edit the recipe phases so the sim chops tomatos on the cutting board. It's much easier if you clone a recipe that is similar to what you're doing and will require less work to get to the final result. canning is a little different than other recipes because it involves the additional stock pot step. you'll have to really pay attention to the game's canning recipe tuning to make sure you do it properly.
also, pay attention to the name hash, description hash, restaurant availability (i guess not really since it's a canned item lol), recipe tags & object definition in the recipe tuning and simdata file as well. if you change any of those things in the recipe tuning, you must add the same changes to the simdata tuning or it won't work properly. also make sure your canned item's object definition is 32bit.
also also, your recipe won't show up if you don't have a crafting interaction to house the recipe. i personally use a custom cookbook with the interactions i made to hold all the recipes. your canning recipe will need to be tied to an interaction tied to a crafting object (fridge, grill, cookbook, etc) or else it won't be available to make. you can override the fridge_cook interaction tuning & add your recipe to the list, however that's not really recommended for compatibility reasons. now if it's personal use, have at it and override it, but be aware that you'd have to add your new canning recipe every time EA adds new recipes to the game.
i hoped that helped!
