I've got a brand spanking new computer and everything runs quite well but I realized I've gotten this bizarre glitch that makes Sims Studio difficult to use. I'll attach an example of what I'm talking about here. I did see that I'm not the only one with this issue, however, it looks like the solution so far has been turning on the Mux switch and I'd be honestly lying if I said I knew what that means. Googling it didn't clear too much up either. It's not a gaming PC or anything like that so I don't know if that's the issue. Can anyone tell me what's causing this and what the fix is? Hello! I've been having the same issue and while I've tried finding out if my laptop (a Galaxy Book) has an MUX switch, I've had no luck so far. Is there anything else I can try or shall I use my old laptop for my Sims 4 Studio needs. Thanks for any help you can provide!

Unfortunately no luck. I did try downloading Omen before I posted as it's an HP laptop, but again, it's not a gaming laptop, and it's really looking like I don't have MUX switch. Also, I don't have any nvidia drivers, but rather intel. I really hope this isn't the only fix.

Me too. One of the only other options I've found was to set up a second monitor, and while I do have something I can use, I've no idea how

I just downloaded S4S for the first time. Also have a new computer, but it doesn't have a MUX switch.

Do you have Windows or MacOS? What version? 3). Did you replace the skin of the default avatar? 4). Do you encounter this problem when using My CC feature only or always? 5). Does it happen with all items regardless or only with the ones that use Color sliders ( skin, makeup, eyebrows, eyes, custom color slider compatible hair, etc)? (please check the files for hair, clothing, accessories, skins, etc, not the same category ). If only on specific items, please share those files; 6). After encountering this issue, check if a new file appeared in C:\Users\----\Documents\Sims 4 Studio\Logs (should have today's date). Not a big deal to remake them, but I assume they're unusable once broken. |

Yes, I'm using a laptop but no, it haven´t MUX switch. I have an Intel Iris Xe graphics card with all updated drivers
I have installed the Intel Graphics Command center and the Intel Driver and Support Assistant to update everything and try to fix the GPU issue. But I haven't been able to fix anything

Windows 11 Home.
3). Did you replace the skin of the default avatar?
4). Do you encounter this problem when using My CC feature only or always?
5). Does it happen with all items regardless or only with the ones that use Color sliders ( skin, makeup, eyebrows, eyes, custom color slider compatible hair, etc)? (please check the files for hair, clothing, accessories, skins, etc, not the same category ). If only on specific items, please share those files;
No, the problem is it happens with all the files that I open with the S4S. It doesn't matter if they are CC or original

I was replied to an issue in this thread and was redirected here by mauvemorn -- my Nvidia control panel is set to the same settings as the one above, I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling s4s, using the 'convert LRLE' tool (although they were already LRLE images... I just did that to check it off the list)... I hope my answers can help find a fix to this. Edit: also mauvemorn the link on the article you mentioned above is broken. I'd love to see that page, maybe I'll find my issue there. 1). Are you using a laptop? If yes, does it have a MUX switch? Yes, an Acer Nitro 5 (an151-64-70kk)-- no MUX switch. 2). Do you have Windows or MacOS? What version? Windows 11, fully updated. 3). Did you replace the skin of the default avatar? Yes, I used one of Brujah's skin replacement packages. 4). Do you encounter this problem when using My CC feature only or always? It happens in my cc and when I open one of the problem packages as a project, although when I select a problem package in my cc it takes at least a full minute to open the file while it opens immediately when I open a problem package as a project. 5). Does it happen with all items regardless or only with the ones that use Color sliders ( skin, makeup, eyebrows, eyes, custom color slider compatible hair, etc)? (please check the files for hair, clothing, accessories, skins, etc, not the same category ). If only on specific items, please share those files; It only happens with a few files (the ones I've been referring to as 'problem packages')-- some use color sliders, others don't. There are also files where the skin shows up in some swatches and not others. Dreamgirl's ruffled angel and feathery lace lingerie are two packages where this occurs. (The ruffled lace lingerie appears normally, though.) 6). After encountering this issue, check if a new file appeared in C:\Users\----\Documents\Sims 4 Studio\Logs (should have today's date). If yes, open it with a notepad, copy-paste the content here, post No new log prompted by this issue. |

If you're still looking for help, I made an account just to help you out- I have the same graphics card and the struggle is too real but I just tried to find an alternative program since the screen of death was still vibing on my s4s no matter what I did. If your main purpose is to make cc or something with the s4s, I don't think i'll be much help but you can explore that app and find out. But if you're like me, just trying to look at and or remove CC because you don't want it or it's broken then get The Sims 4 tray importer (Follow this link--- luniversims.com/files/file/73-sims-4-tray-importer/) it should be supported by your computer. Just make a household and make sure to make the character wears the cc you don't want and ONLY that (and maybe some in game clothes to identify)-- Not any cc that you want or you might risk losing that file. After doing what ya gotta do to save the household and close the game down, go to the library of your S4TI (The bookcase) and select the broken household you made. Go to CC and click the the file (unmargined to your left- not anything red), and click on 'go to containing folder' and do with it as you wish. Edit: Just found out this method works the same with cc furniture by saving a lot and finding it on S4TI. And you can attempt to find the fixed version of the broken CC by clicking on 'find on google'. If things like meshes aren't downloadable then it gots ta go hun it won't be useful. Hope this helps |
