Hi Everyone, I am brand new to the mod creation game. I found all this and I honestly struggle with having to read a lot at once (ADHD), could any of you possibly help me in starting off? I have downloaded Sims 4 Studio and Notepad++. That's as far as I've gotten x..x Please Help...

Hi. What exactly are you interested in making? Tuning mods, I assume?

Hi. What exactly are you interested in making? Tuning mods, I assume? I assume tuning is where you tweak mods and or items already made?

Can be that as well but generally it’s the game files that are tweaked. For example, if you want the sun to never rise in Forgotten hollow (the neighbourhood added with Vampires expansion pack), you can edit the files responsible for that. This would be considered a tuning mod. The Notepad++ is only needed for tuning mods, so I assumed that was what you wanted to do.
If not or you’re not sure yet, my advice is to try to fix something that you don’t like in ts4 or make something that you want. Both should be easy tasks, of course. Some ideas: - don’t like that there are very few beds for toddlers? you can watch a tutorial on object editing for ts4 and turn an adult bed you like into the one for toddlers. Want a really short skirt? Same topic but for CAS items; - a commonly used object/CAS item is missing the color you need? Would like your favorite hair to come in pastel colors? Watch a tutorial on creating recolors; - don’t like the legs of the table? Replace them with legs from another table after watching a frankenmeshing tutorial; - have a favorite painting? Bring it to ts4 by making it from scratch after following a start-to-finish object making tutorial; And so on.
If you already have a greater interest in CAS items over Build/Buy or vice versa, you can just start gradually mastering everything related to the topic in the order from the easiest to the hardest: - recolouring; - retexturing; - mesh editing; - frankenmeshing (combining parts of multiple meshes into one); - creating a simple item from scratch ( painting/earrings);
If it’s Build/Buy, you can get into making tuning mods by editing features of objects. -
