I scanned throu the forum and looked for a place to humblebrag about my baby, but I dident find anything, so knowing alot of simmers are fond of their pets, I figured I'd make a thread about it.
I present: THIS IS WHERE YOU CAN HUMBLEBRAG (Or just brag) ABOUT YOUR PETS
This is my furry baby, Peggy, who also is deaf, so you can yell all you want, she's not gonna care. Yes - She is a Rottweiler. No - She does not eat infants for breakfast and barbwire for dessert. She's the most amazing and beautiful creature I've ever met. Peggy is 7 1/2 years old, and has lived with me since she were 4. Growing up I've had 2 other dogs and around 20 cats, but what makes Peggy special is that she's all mine! (No parents who can sell her, without telling me!) I live around 6 hours of cardrive away from my hometown so where I live now, I only have one friend and Peggy, so to say the least - Peggy means the world to me. She's a big baby, in a good way, she thinks she's as small as she were as a puppy, and she loves to sit in people's lap, lol. All she really wants to do in life is cuddle and play, cuddle and play, cuddle and play, oh and you guessed it, cuddle and play. She's a couch potato but she does also love to be out on adventures, but she's kinda of a baby lol. We live in the nothern of Sweden, so we get kinda hot summers but also cold winters - a memo Peggy dident get apparently, the big baby loves playing in snow, but cant walk on it, lol. She also loves playing in water (looking for stones) but she's afraid to swim, lol. All in all, Peggy is awesome, She's kind to all other dogs and cats she meets, sometime some people have problems understanding. When I walk her, way too often, do I recive disgusting looks or mean comments, because she is a Rottweiler, a breed that's way misunderstood. A dog can not choose its owner. In the span of a week, last summer, there were a total of 4 dogs who ran free and ran up to Peggy, one which tried biting her achilles tendons as we walked, she dident even stop to look or get the chiuaua off her, she just kept walking. After a while, the owner finally came up and got her dog, did she say "Oh, Im sorry?" No, not really. She just said "Oh, are you being a good dog? Good dog! Yeah, so good. You're so brave!" to her dog.... Things like that makes me mad, that people cant see how wonderful she is, and just because she's a rottweiler and that they think its ok for them and their dogs to attack her, and then encourage that behaviour. Before someone takes offence - I know not all owners are like that - I'm just talking about those who do. All the times, loose dogs have ran up to her, barking, trying to attack her and attacking her I have not ONCE recived a "I'm sorry", each time the owner has praised their dogs behaviour, and then given me a look like its Peggy who's just gnawed their dogs head off or something. Sorry if this turned into a rant... I just wanted to humblebrag about her, but also, Peggy have converted alot of dog affraid people, and I just wanted to share with you, that she's a great embassador for her breed. (As Cesar Millan would say, lol) So, show us your beautiful pets!

This is Xena. She is our Princess of Doom...ha! She just turned 15, recently - This vid is from circa 2011. She was a strange Kitty, played in water and loved Heavy Metal.
When she was younger, she would jump up and open Doors, now she will stand in front of them and MEOW until you come and open them - even if they are left partially open for her. She snores as loud as a person now @ times, which always makes me laugh a bit - until i can't sleep.
Xena will always be our Daughter @ Heart, not just a Cat/Housepet. Rock On!

Aww I used to have a rott, he passed away a couple years ago from old age. He was soooo huge, about 150 lbs. Scared everybody, but was the biggest teddy bear! Great guard dog and wonderful companion. Whenever another dog or cat came into the yard he would bark at it, but that's because he didn't know it, but he never would attack them. Boy, did he have a huge bark but no bite, lol! We've had some cats and a dog since we got him and he always just played with them. Once he saw that animals or people were okay to be in the house he would be really kind. Of course if you were a stranger he would corner you and bark at you. Once we had a stranger walk in our back door (he was apparently running away from someone) and our dog had him cornered barking at him. The guy was so scared begging us to call our dog to back away. It was funny but scary. But the dog never went to bite him. Yea, we didn't live in a great neighborhood at the time. Aww I miss him now. :( But he lived a long, happy life. I wish I had a photo of him to show you. Now, I have two cats. One looks just like a Lynx (we named her Lynx, actually, hehe) and the other is a Siamese (we named her Nova). Gorgeous cats. They don't like each other too much. Well actually Nova doesn't like Lynx. Nova is older and was here first, so it's understandable I suppose. But poor Lynx always wants to play and cuddle her and Nova just won't have any of it! And they both keep getting on tables and counters and it's driving me nuts. -_- But other than that, they are great cats. We also have an Italian Wall Lizard. My son just had to have a reptile and I said no to snakes, lol. So a lizard it was. He ended up naming her Lizzie, lol. My daughter wanted a hamster really bad, so we got her one of those syrian hamsters. She named him Maxwell. I would post pictures of them, but for some reason I don't have any right now, but will have to try to get some and upload them later. I'll see if I can find some photos of them

@stevenssimsstuff - Xena looks beautiful, and it might sound strange, but i do miss having a cat gnawing on my fingers, lol. I love cats, if it werent for my roommate being allergic, i so would have atleast one cat right now. Just the last 4 - 5 months, i've been really craving have a cute little kitty in my life again. My all time fave cat, was also a wierd cat. He loved chips and he was obedient like a dog, in fact i tested him and my former dog and the cat came out the winner, lol. Like i said, Xena looks beautiful, i love her markings. Rock on dude! 8-) taintedbunnii - You used to have a rotti?! That makes me so happy to hear :D Im so sorry for your loss though, its awful to think animals dont have the same life expectancys as humans. I acutally had a meltdown last night, bring scared about loosing my baby... we found a lump on her side so we need to take her to the vet to check it out, and it just scares the living hell out of me. But i dont want to think about it, until i've been there, so.... Yeah, Rotties, from what i've gatherd from all the rottie owners i've met, also just say they are big cuddle bears, lol. It's a shame you dont have a photo of him, but i bet he was beautiful :D It sure does sound like you have a full house of animals now though, little Lynx looks beautiful. My family back home are kinda having the same "problem" as you right now, they also got a little new kitty who just wants to play and cuddle with his two new older brothers, but the first cat went psycho when he saw him, lol. He is a bit of a diva, but the middle cat is one of the sweetest cats ever (Seriously, im considering stealing him) and he is like "A new brother? Okay, cool, whatever dude!" lol I look forward to seeing some pics of your other animals if you do feel like it in the future!

Several years ago my sister brought home a cat. Now I sometimes have these very unpleasant dreams where a cat bites my hands with those needle-like teeth, piercing all the way through my flesh. It was a very cute cat and I taught her tricks, because she was always so full of pounce. I figured it's better to have her do things, than ignore her and get teeth and claws in my ankles. Can't play with a cat at all times though. It was my mom who spoiled that cat and made her bite hands painfully, while I was gone for 3 months.
Now I have a bunch of plush cats. I play with them everyday. Yeah, I don't think I will ever grow up, even if I do finally find a job.

Aww, thats sad you mom spoiled the cat when you were gone, my family dident really discipline their first cat either, so when i were home studying for my drivers license for 7 weeks, i were the one who disciplined him and since then he is actually better, most people dont think you can discipline or teach cats manners so thumbs up for what you did! My aunt also had a cat who clawed at peoples ankles and bit people, he was mad, i was so scared of him as a kid, but as fast as she moved out to the country and he could get out he turned from this unstable little monster into the most sweetest cat ever... all he needed was to get stimulated. Plush cats sounds like a pretty sweet option paika if one does not want to get bit or clawed though, lol. Maybe i should look into that option too now while i cant get my own cat.

J MzunguThat's a nice dog! As she's deaf, you're only working with hand signals to let her do things? @stevenssimsstuff Your cat can give paws! That's awesome :P taintedbunniiStill waiting on your Italian Lizard photos! :P Maybe one withthe terrarium? AsyliYour horses are looking beautiful and happy! That's a nice big place where they can ran around too. Some of you maybe already saw some of the birds I had when I was still living with my parents...(that's was only a couple months ago :P ) But for the people that didn't saw some videos, here are some: Slowmotion of some parakeets:Te only baby Little Quails I ever had AND survived: 2 of the sweetest kakarikis I ever had! The second one you see hopping out of the nest, couldn't fly but was REALLY tame. The first thing she did when I was entering the aviary was hop on my shoulder: And then I also have a photo of the puppy I had a couple months back, but unfortunatly because my girlfriend and I broke up after 6,5 years the puppy had to go too. I wasn't able to take care of it on my own and as my ex went back to her farthers house and he didn't wanted a puppy in house we needed to find a new place for him. (And we succeeded, he's now in a family with 4 children and another dog he can play with) I'm probably going to visit him soon with my ex to see how he's doing. When we just had him one day (TO CUTE!):With his best friend, Teddy. Especially in the beginning it was super cute to see him wandering around with a plush bear that was larger then himself. It also gave him safety at night when he had to go in the bench to sleep:And just a couple days before he went to is new home, I made a photoshoot of him and this was one of those photos: And then I also had these black cheek zebra finches, but unfotunately they escaped both (The little ones were already sold):>>> Male <<<>>> Female <<<>>>2 of the 4 Little ones <<<I'm going to update my Selfmade photos and videos from animals too this evening with some other photos I made from the red deer the other times I went back there and with some photos of European Bisons I made recently here in The Netherlands in an protected enclosure in the dunes.

Wow Bakie, Im guessing your a real animal friend :D So many beautiful animals, was you dog a type of Spaniel dog.... a Cavalier even? Either way, that sure was one heck of a cute dog and I'm happy you and your girlfriend were smart and decided what was best for him. All my neighbours are just stupid selfish people who do what's worst for their dogs, so Im glad to hear you're a sane person. Oh, and yes, i do use hand gestures/signals with my dog. I've always been a fan of Cesar Millan so before i had her, i already knew i would use alot of body language and never repeat myself (Like, "Come here Lucy.... Lucy, come come come come, lucy, why are you not comming? Lucy, come now, luuuuuuuucy") (No idea where i got Lucy from) So, i were already sure of it, and then i got a deaf dog and i were like.... "Well... how the hell do i call her now?" But, she's awesome, I think her being deaf actually made her into the well behaved dog she is. I can let her loose, and we can walk past other dogs/cats/birds on walks without her running to them. When she's free outside she looks up pretty often so she can see if i want anything, but im sure it must look funny. She looks up really quickly to see if im doing something, if i wait with the hand gestures she's already look down at the ground before i manage to start doing them, so if i want something i need to start waving to her, before she looks up. And im sure people walking past must think I'm stupid, standing there, waving at a dog that's not even looking my way, lol. You know, although i find parakeets very pretty, I'm actually afraid of birds... My mom had parakeets when i was a baby and apparantly one of them sat on my head, and as i dident have any hair he started to try and grab ahold of my head with his claws so he ended up clawing me down the side of my head, lol, dont know if that's what made me scared of birds or what it is. As a kid I always wanted parakeets and especially a parot, but then one day when i was 15 and riding on my moped and there were a bunch of birds on the road i just hit the breaks and felt panic. So, do you breed parakeets? Or are they like my cat, kinda "slutty" and just get a huge ammount of babies? :P

So, do you breed parakeets? Or are they like my cat, kinda "slutty" and just get a huge ammount of babies? :P Yeah, I am! I love everything in nature by the way, but animals the most. My dog was a mix. His father was a teckel and his mom was also a mix between a King Charles x German Pointer. And they didn't even help daddy teckel, he did it all by himself...probably when the mom layed down.. I also watch Cesar Millan sometimes, but lots of my friend who are dog trainers their selfs say that what he does isn't right at all. But I don't know, he doesn't hurt them as far as I know and they also don't look scared or afraid somehow. But again, I can't read a dog as they can. I can imagine people looking strange at you, when you're waving to your dog. They probably think somethink like "Just call him!" About afraid of birds. Of course as a bird lover, I could say: "No they aren't scary at all!" But I know that I can't decide for someone else what is scary or not. In fact, I got some fear disorders myself that sound quite stupid for people not knowing something about it. It's possible that you're scared because of the thing in your younger years. That time it was maybe hurting to feel his nails on your head or maybe he nibbled your ear or something and your brains keep matching birds with pain or a unwanted feeling. All fears start like that I think.. I did breed parakeets and some other bird species too, but unfortunatly I haven't got room for my aviary in the garden of the house where I live now. My aviary was 5 metres long, 1,70 metres width and 2 metres high. Although some were indeed "slutty".. If I didn't removed the nesting blocks, they just kept going. But as that could eventually kill the birds I only let them breed 3 nests a year. Do you have photos of your kittens?

But as that could eventually kill the birds I only let them breed 3 nests a year. Do you have photos of your kittens? Ooooooh, I was like "Teckel? The heck is a teckel?" and priding myself with being pretty good at seeing what kinda of breed dogs are, i just had to google it. I dident know the dachshund also were called teckel. Cool, I know learning new things about animals What a cute little mix he is, and now i also understand with that you mean about the mom laying down and how impressive it was the dad dident need any help, lol yeah, that's pretty damn impressive Yeah, I know some people dont like Cesar Milan, but I think they missunderstand him. Alot of people say that his way is to "bully" the dog, into "respecting" them, and its not. A dog is a dog - not a human so I find that he corrects a dog, the way a dog would correct a dog. It's kind of like speaking their language, then they can understand what it is that people want. Yeah, at first when I had her, if she pulled to another dog (I've worked alot with her, and in the beginning she did pull to other dogs, not to fight but she wanted to sniff them) so when she did I never corrected her by voice, just by hand gesture, which people did find... annoying... stupid i guess (Im guessing, based of their expressions) lol Lol, yeah i know what you mean with the "As I bird lover i could say...." because I try the same when i meet a person who's affraid of my dog. When people already have a fear from before instilled in them, it can be hard to just get rid off, specially if its someone you dont know. My family and relatives who are afraid of dogs knows me and therefor trust me and then learn and understand that she's the sweetest dog ever. But if i walk her and someone goes "Oh, im scared off dogs" I find that it's pretty useless to say "Dont worry, she's nice" lol, they just give you a face like " Really, b-word? Really?" lol I do want to not be afraid of birds, i really do but... until i know someone personally who own a bird, I dont ever see that happending. But I did enjoy looking at your pretty birds, Like I said, as a kid I really did want parakeets, I love their colors! I love the green one you had with the yellow chest. Reminds me of a parrot I do have pictures of some of my kittens... but they are from the 90's and In a box somewhere, so none on the computer unfortantly.
