Hello!
I'll get right to the point: Would anyone with knowledge of XML be willing to look into the CAS Menu tuning files to see if there's a way to disable the one-item-per-menu limit? many people have asked for layer-able accessories, makeup, etc., but nobody has really given a clear way to do it... I think that adding or changing info XML-wise might be the answer, but I'm new to modding, so I wouldn't know where to start or what to change exactly. if the idea is impossible, could someone explain it? (ex: the tight numbering system used for subcategories can't be broken)
I only want to know if enabling multiple accessories is possible beyond re-categorizing with S4S. If the basic concept is possible, little quirks like UI glitches can be ironed out later.
To anyone with feedback or other solutions; Thank You!

Hi. I don’t know about makeup (should be possible in theory), but accessories within the same category cannot be used at once and it goes beyond xml. Unlike objects each of which can take out an entire uv space, all CAS items share the same one. The 1024x2048 texture is split into areas for different categories and a creator must put theirs in the correct place, otherwise the item will conflict with others. For example, if you were to put the hat’s uvs and textures in the area meant for hair, the hat’s texture will be projected on both the hat and the hair. For example, all earrings are uv unwrapped in the same exact place on the uv map. You theoretically put both of them on a sim at once and their textures conflict with each other. So no, that would not be possible at all without remaking the whole game.

If there are accessories you want to use together as a set, for instance on a particular sim or for some other purpose, but they currently overlap, you can UVmap them in a different area and set them as various other categories so they don't overlap.
I did that for one of my sims. I used pretty much all the categories and every available space on the texture map, so a lot of the items would've overlapped with other unlrelated items, but it was just for my own use and not for upload. I just needed a set where most of the items would work together as a set, but I didn't need them to work along with other accessories.
Might not be a good idea for uploading, though - if you do, make sure to post info about what's been done, because texture overlapping with other accessories isn't too fun to deal with.

If you have a left and right item that you want to be able to use on for instance each arm separately and both together, you can map them in the same space, but you wouldn't be able to use different colors on each arm even if the accessories were separate. Then you'd have to map each side different.

Thank you guys for your help! texturing is a bit beyond me, but the advice was useful just to keep in mind! Considering how it was bugging me, the in-depth replies were excellent )
