Hi, I'm new to modding the Sims 4, and I really wanted to learn how to add custom objects. I made a custom kitchen knife following this yt tutorial, wherein pretty much the only step I skipped was for the bumpmap since I wasn't sure if I needed to adjust that. The model and texture shows up perfectly fine in S4S, but in the game the mesh won't show correctly if you're zoomed out from the object. Instead it will show the book clutter mesh that I used as a scale reference. Model in S4S
Object in-game (zoomed out)Object in-game (zoomed-in)I figured initially the issue was that I accidentally kept the book mesh in the Blender file and so deleted it, reimported it to S4S and remade the package. But it hasn't changed, so it must be some part of the process that I'm unaware of (or I just need to adjust the bumpmap lol) If anyone knows for sure what the issue might be or if I should provide more images, please let me know! I'm sure it's a simple beginner's mistake. ((also if you know how to easily create an uneven curve in blender 2.7 for something such as the curve of a knife's edge, please let me know-- I can't seem to find anything online about adding new vertices for irregular curves that isn't subdivide or bevel, which were incredibly unwieldy for my purpose))

It looks as if you have only made the first mesh into the knife, nearly all meshes have at least 4. Two for close (Lod 0 high, Lod 1 medium) and two shadow meshes. If any of them are missed then the game uses what was there before. If you have these then check your cut numbers in Blender. Your mesh is low poly enough that the high/first mesh can be used for all the levels of detail meshes. And when given the right cut numbers (0) and no textures for the shadow meshes too.
Edit, to make the edge of the knife uneven/jagged? you might try making that piece of the mesh transparent and using a texture to show the detail. (eg like the Ring O light Ceiling lamp, Base Game, the curly metal bits are really just textures over a plane mesh with transparency enabled). I have no idea if this could work but it might be worth a try, pick a mesh that already has a transparent layer and give it a shot.
