Is anyone aware of a 3d web viewer that supports EA's .package file format?
We're looking to build a tool for modders to share and showcase their creations, and are hoping to use a pre-made web viewer to do so (IE - 3dviewer.net, or Sketchfab). But from what I can tell none support .package.
Any ideas?

I'm not aware of anything like that though that doesn't necessarily mean there's no such thing in existence. Sims 3 had a couple of applications that let you view a sims3pack file's contents and a package file's content. The first is Delphy's Custard and the other is Package Viewer. And I just now found an app called Package Explorer. I don't know anything about that one, however. More than likely none of that will help you. I'm sure these apps are scripted differently than what you need and I know nothing about coding like Java script or whatever you'd be using. So sorry.

No worries, thanks or the response!
My understanding is we'd need a custom script to accomplish the following:
unpack a .package file browse on the files and automatically pick the geometry and texture data from that package convert that geometry data into Json, GLB or FBX 3D format so it can be imported to a playcanvas or threeJS web viewer. Convert the texture data ( which is in .DDS file format ) into a JPG or PNG format
Would be interested to hear from anyone in this community who thinks they'd be able to accomplish something like this.

I could not at all help you with any of this except to say that Studio can import and export PNG files; that ability is built into the software. As for geometry, Studio only works with blend files. TSR Workshop uses its own native file format (.wso) but it allows obj imports and exports, as well. It has the ability to work with package files but if memory serves exporting a file from a package using TSR Workshop results in a .binary file. At least for CAS items (and at least for TS3 items. I haven't used TSRW for TS4 things). There's S4PE which is the TS4 version of S3PE. S4PE and S3PE natively work with package files. It exports CAS meshes as .simgeom files and object meshes are exported as .lod files. The .binary that TSRW exports from package files can be renamed to .simgeom. As in, replace .binary with .simgeom and then you can import the mesh in software like Milkshape. There's also a simgeom addon for Blender. But, that involves python scripting and may not be of any help. That's about it for any knowledge I have. Unfortunately, all I can do is point you to the tools that I know about and hope you can glean something from them.

Hi. There are software that allow you to rip 3d models out of most files that have them and that is all you need. If you can make the preview show only 3d models from lod0 and only the diffuse map, it will be good enough
