I'm working on some multi-tile, multi-storey walls roughly following this tutorial. One thing from that page doesn't match up with how my S4S works is that instead of the DST images being 768, 1024, and 1280, there's always 2 that are 512. This worked out for my first attempt, which had some leeway in it because it's a seamless texture, and the short and medium height walls are just the tall images squished down. However, I tried to make one version of a tiling, textured wall (with edges) that has a variation to make a matching mural on one side. And clearly I've messed something up that tells the game where to start tiling from!
I am so confused... I barely even know how to describe what's going wrong. Why aren't the 3rd and 4th storeys matching up with the 1st and 2nd? How can I get it to always start with either the leftmost or rightmost part of the image as the first tile when placing the wall? It seems like the tiles are matching up to something in the lot and where the rooms are placed rather than just starting from one end, but that doesn't explain why the different levels don't at least line up the same!
I'm using Sims 4 Studio for Windows 3.1.6.2.
(The roof doesn't match up because I didn't think to make a 5th storey swatch, but I want to solve the tiling issue before I work on that.)
Apologies if I'm not using the right terms for some things, recoloring walls is my very first foray into creating CC.

This video may help. Part of the problem, if I understand correctly, is how the walls are UV-mapped. EA apparently didn't take tiling into consideration when making the wall meshes.
Bakie wrote an update in the comments section of this video. Here's what he wrote:
Since this tutorial was made, Studio had some minor changes.
Here are some things that changed and some things that will make the time for making your own wallpapers a bit shorter:
-- Start of Tutorial --
1. In the main menu go to the build section, select standalone and click on build.
2. Click on the down arrow behind type to select which kind of item you want to make, in this case a wall.
3. To easily find the wall I was using back then, type 96f2 into the search bar, then select, click next, save and continu the tutorial...
-- Resizing Textures Part --
4. At 5:18 minutes I said we need to resize the textures because of the stretching in game. You can skip this part, go to 6:24 to save your textures (can also be saved as PNG, take a look at the video description) and go straight back to Studio as Studio has a very easy feature for automatic resizing now.
5. At 7.31 before importing your new textures, be sure that the "AutoResize Textures" checkbox is checked. After that, import you textures.
-- Swatch Colors --
6. At 8.30 you don't need to go back to photoshop to get the right color codes. Just Right click the color swatch to get the eyedropper tool and move it inside the modelviewer on the left to get the color you want. You can also use the eyedropper tool on other swatches to get exact the same color.
-- In Game --
7. Another easy way to find your wallpaper is by using the search bar.
