Does anyone use this? What's your experience been?
I'm thinking about it, but don't want to have to experiment to get things the way I want them in the game, so I'm trying to get more info.
Particularly, I'm not sure about who pregnancy and population will apply to. Which Sims are considered unplayed by the game and therefore would be set to working, marrying, and having kids autonomously?
Almost all of my lots are occupied and the great majority of those are populated by my own Sims. I don't have the intention of playing all of them, but get them off to the start I want when they are first moved in somewhere.
Of the many I do play, I may stick with them for a long time before playing another household, but rotate more regularly through others.
I just don't want Sims I had other plans for, suddenly married to J Huntington Jr. with 4 kids when I get to them. Or, worse and something that happened early on before I had my options set the way they are now - all the elders die off while the household isn't played and none of their kids even notice.

Never heard of it....Script Command File?
There can always be issues with any script master file, i would back up the Original before playing with any.

MC Command CenterSorry, stevenssimsstuff, I have to remind myself that, unlike for Sims 2, people haven't been playing their games for almost a decade and therefore, recognize all the major mods off-hand by even just their acronyms or who made them. *lol* Even if not familiar with the mod, maybe someone knows the answer to the question of which households the game considers to be played. If I knew that I'd have a lot more information than I do now. I've skimmed through many pages of the comments section for the mod, but have not found the info I want and there are 217 pages of comments total!

I've skimmed through many pages of the comments section for the mod, but have not found the info I want and there are 217 pages of comments total! Deaderpool will often just answer questions, he knows the comments section is long. If he isn't available, egwarhammer and I are often flitting about too and we are pretty familiar with it and a lot of other mods. Ultimately, with flags, you can do a lot of micromanaging through MC Command. It really all depends on what you want. If you put an NC flag on a Sim, they won't couple (at least not without your input, possibly not even then, but I don't know for sure). There's a difference between active households and played households, but right now I'm not doing rotational play so I don't really know how everything interacts with played households. Still, there's a decent amount of nuance to what you can tell MC Command to do, and with a little extra micromanaging (through flags) you can control a lot of details and create a lot of exceptions.

Thank you for your reply, Ryu.
I will just ask at MTS then. Maybe it will be helpful to me.

Thank you for your reply, Ryu. I will just ask at MTS then. Maybe it will be helpful to me. Another idea... (hi Ryu! <wave> I think this is my first post here... your fault! haha!) if you're going to MTS anyway, look at MC's Description page too. Especially under the blue buttons for Population and Pregnancy, but I'd say at least open them all up and peek at what they can tell you. Settings defaults, options, there's a LOT of info there. Protip on the forum number of pages... 2.2.0 is current, anything before 2.0.0 is going to be interesting reading for background, but not really helpful for the mod's new UI-based menu workings. Basically, anything before October, you can skip in comments. High points are in the Change Logs on the description page, anyway. You can find me on either MTS or officials... just landed here while I was chasing some of Ryu's blog links, so, I can't say I'm exactly "resident" here. Yet. Although I did Login, not Register... so I'm not totally new, I just have a lousy memory.

Wow, that's lofty! I wouldn't say I'm anywhere near THAT smart... although I do thank you kindly for the vote of confidence. Merry probably thinks we're never gonna answer the question. It's hard, because some things trigger off unplayed sims (if mapped, the diamond over their house is NOT green, this also includes your "Not in World" sim window batch of folks), and some things trigger off inactive sims (any sim in any household you aren't currently playing, whether marked played or not). I still have trouble wrapping my head around it sometimes... then there's game behavior, mod behavior, game vs mod behavior, and at some point, picture me having a meltdown trying to figure it all out. Best advice for checking MC out would be, copy your save game to your desktop. Install the mod. Open a family lot, find a computer, and dig into MC's settings menus. Play a bit... if you don't like something, your "real" game is safely tucked away. Call it OJT, or Research. Want to see my settings file? It's here: www.dropbox.com/s/dxndhek7yars8v9/mc%20config%20share?dl=0Just to look at, it'll show you the different things that come with the whole mod. I don't have everything enabled, but I do have everything installed. And not many of my settings are default, but all that's covered on the mod pages.

egwarhammer, thank you for all that information. That feels like a comfortable enough entry point to get my feet wet and explore. I did read the whole description page already. I would definitely go through it again though, if/when I download. I understand that some questions can be difficult to answer definitively, but just knowing that and why is also quite helpful. Thank you again. This is very helpful.

egwarhammer:
I've got to laugh at myself for still wondering about what many of those commands would look like in action, but feeling I need no additional info for anything starting with Woohoo_.
Anyway, one thing is clear, I could do away with a lot of other mods.
So does no jealousy still work for MC Command Center? Inteen's no jealousy mod stopped working when Maxis introduced the jealous trait.

Inteen's no jealousy mod stopped working when Maxis introduced the jealous trait. Inteen still works/worked for you? I've never used it, but, I've seen reports of it not working for a while now. Not tons, it isn't one I go looking for info on, but I have seen it mentioned during browses. I haven't had any catfights, and I've moved a couple of affairs in with families just because I'm twisted like that. BUT, I haven't moved a lot of gametime where jealousy would be a factor lately, either, so, it's a YMMV thing for sure. Yeah, mc's woohoo isn't for everybody... but, being AVAILABLE, I wanted you to at least see what it includes, in case you WERE interested.

Sometimes someone will post, Deaderpool will reply, and I'll be like, yes, but, what about THIS? haha! Totally different perspectives, playstyles, everything. (I also have some talent at bug-finding in new releases.) He rates as super brilliant with me... not sure where I rate on his meter, probably somewhere around super pest ... but he's always been chill about responding to questions/issues. I tagged myself "official mc cheerleader" and he's gone with that. I about fell out of my chair when he first included me in Additional Credits at the bottom of the Description page. That was BIG for me! edit: fix smilies.

Yes, I'm particularly interested in the woohoo functions, but those seem straight-forward to me, undoubtedly because of my familiarity with some of the similar mods for TS2.
As I'm digging deeper at MTS, I'm figuring out that I probably want less utility from the Command center and will let Maxis do it's thing for much. There are some things that seem straight-forward and desirable and I'll use those things.
I'm realizing that is how I have played before and why I never built up any familiarity with how this other stuff works from using, for example, InSiminator.
Anyway, I sure hope I can give some relief to my poor, now "very sad" poly Sims.

Whoops! I'm behind in my responses now. My last post is in response to the above, if it's not clear.

Let's cross posts for a minute then, Merry. haha!
I just realized I misunderstood your woohoo comment... I thought you were saying you weren't interested in including that (duh, considering we're also talking about inteen... space cadet moment for yours truly, I do have those occasionally!)... but now I think you meant you don't need to ask about it because it's pretty straightforward. Is that closer?
