Hey! So I'm rather new to CC creation, but I've been doing quite OK just by following tutorials and some Googling. It's all good in Marvelous Designer, to transfering the file to Blender, however, where does the first problem begin - i think my biggest pitfall is somewhere in Blender when you are creating a mesh. I usually do pretty well until the point where you see the UV map + it should show a highlighted placement of your CC in the UV map. (and for me it's never highlighted), thus, obviously when going to weight transfer, it never transfers the weight to my clothing piece and the "heat map" only shows on body, under my custom content. I'm trying to understand what I am doing wrong, but I understand that it might be somewhere in the process of doing something with UV maps 0 and 1, as it doesn't highlight my content like here ( ) - i have time stamped the place in video. Anyways, I have no idea what im doing wrong, but im certain it's somewhere in the steps of creating a mesh in Blender. Can someone help and maybe explain step by step how the process goes? I've used a tutorial from this forum as well sims4studio.com/thread/7044/finish-marvelous-designer-clothing-tutorialbut the same thing happens - I cannot perform weight transfer as it just simply doesnt appear on my clothes.. Thank you so much in advance!!!

Hi. That is a very unfortunate tutorial, disregard everything said in it. The second one is very outdated. We would need to see your file to know for sure, but: - make sure both your item and the reference are visible and selectable; - in this order: select the reference first, then Shift-select your item; - switch to Weight paint, Weights - Transfer weights. Change Vertex Mapping to Nearest face interpolated and Source layers selection to By name ( very important); - Weights - Clean. Change Subset to All groups; - Weights - Limit total. Change Subset to All groups.

After I do this, nothing really happens. Should I then press enter or, how can the "Heatmap" become visible? I click through the vertex groups and I cannot see anything after these steps. Are there any more new steps in between? Hi. That is a very unfortunate tutorial, disregard everything said in it. The second one is very outdated. You see the paint of a selected vertex group only. Select the one that is big enough to be seen( pelvis, spine) This is not really the right way of checking if the transfer was successful In edit mode select one vertex, in the N panel you will see the bones that affect it If you see under 4 vertex groups, everything is fine If there are many vertex groups with 0 values, use Clean with All groups If there are more vertex groups than 4, use Limit total If only one vertex group affects the mesh, did not change Active to By name

I have the same problem. I tried checking the vertex groups but i use blender 3.60 and it doesn't really show a difference between the reference mesh and my MD mesh. But the heatmap only shows up on the body beneath the mesh and not the mesh. I haven't used the mesh tools cut plugin, maybe that's the problem?

You may have transferred them with wrong settings How to transfer weights in Blender 3.6 +:- make sure both your item and the reference are visible and selectable. If you're going to use a body parts under the rig as a reference, make sure to make it selectable first; - in this order: select the reference first, then Ctrl-select your item; - switch to Weight paint, Weights - Transfer weights. Change Vertex Mapping to Nearest face interpolated and Source layers selection to By name ( very important); - Weights - Clean. Change Subset to All groups; - Weights - Limit total. Hi! Thank you for your help, I was able to successfully transfer the weights. But now when I try to import it into sims4studio, nothing happens Check cut numbers, hide the reference meshes. If won’t help, share the blend and package files
