Hi! I have two questions about baby default replacements I hope someone can help me with Early last year I made a set of default replacements which I used for a while with my History Challenge, then didn't use for months. Today I started working on some new default replacement skins for my Legacy Challenge babies and I was testing out my new files in-game when I noticed that female babies with a medium skin tone will change to the light skin tone when picked up/interacted with (they will display the correct skin tone when idle in the crib). Male medium babies or babies with a dark or light skin tone don’t have this problem. I tried a couple of things (deleting the cache, testing with other people's default files, without the invisible crib mod etc.), but all the same result. So I figured I would make a fresh set of default replacement files using the latest S4Studio. I wanted to make one package for each skin tone/gender combination (only human babies), but I noticed there is no male version of the dark skin tone. So my questions are: 1) Is it now impossible to make a different boy and girl replacement for the darkest skin tone? (I could do this last year) 2) Why does the female medium skin baby change to a light skin baby when interacted with? (making a fresh set of default replacement files didn't fix this either). UPDATE: It looks like baby skins are currently bugged (CC-free games too).

It looks like EA is going to need to fix this. Modders may be able to but this is something everyone needs fixed whether they use mods or not.

Yep! I found a post on another forum, reporting this issue back in May last year - so it looks like it's not on EA's priority list :(

Im not sure if anyone can help me, but i was following the instructions, but then when it came to actually editing photoshop doesnt show up at all and neither does GIMP. I'm not sure what to do to fix this. I cant edit anything as the editing programs just wont show up when i try to export and the only thing it will let me do is save that file.

Just a quick question! Are we still able to customize different outfits for boys and girls? I used to be able to tell which textures were for which gender in S4S by looking at the onesie they were wearing; girls had a butterfly and boys had a monkey. I assume with the knittable baby onesies they added a while back, all the textures got changed to a standard diaper. I can no longer tell which baby textures are girls and which ones are boys because they're all wearing the same diaper in the texture file now.
I was actually using martine's build your own baby kit to customise some adorable textures with bows and earrings, etc, for girls, while I gave the boys a different look with no accessories and a different outfit. I was quite excited to import them into a package but was met with confusion when I saw that the default textures had changed to be indistinguishable by gender. :'(

Hello, I'm not sure if this post is still active or if anyone can help me but I wanted to do my own replacements, I'm still not sure how to make the skin look a little more realistic or at least not so cartoony, and also when I tried that baby preview it wouldn't show up in the s4s, am I doing something wrong or is this out of date it being 2021 and everything is updated. Thank you so much for the tutorial it was exactly what I was looking for.
