But I have not experienced any of those things you’re mentioning thus far and it looks alright in my game. I’m a bit confused
Are there any other workarounds you have in mind? As like I said when doing your method and any others, it simply does not work after attempting it maybe 20 times. Should I send the blend and package files?

You are most likely missing or misunderstanding one step, makes no sense for it to not work. Follow those steps again and send a blend file just before you hit apply on the data transfer modifier
If my memory serves me well, that dress was of the same exact length as your garment. If it was a bit shorter or longer, legs would get wrong data. The neck rips on the child frame only.

Can I ask before which data transfer modifier? The “weight + vertex paint” step or the “UV-1” transfer?
