Thanks for reading my post. I want to make a c preview with really good quality so they can be more attractive. But have met some problem when doing so. I used srwe to shot 9000×8000 and have hq mod switch on when take photo. Have used a mod creator who's cc preview is really hq's gshade filter. But there are still some place not really hq. I saw some creator like northern siberia winds said she only take photo in game. But even I used her cc I can't make the photo as hq as hers. northern siberia winds photo example. mine.(When zoom in the eye part is not really hq). The cc I used mostly from creator who display their cc in hq preview. So I feel like maybe photo not hq enough is not caused by cc? I know I can make photo in blender. But feel like maybe can have a nice photo in game is more time saving. It is my first time to ask question about photo. Not sure what I should provide to help staff to know my situation more. Just provided a photo I took in game (used hq mod, srwe and gshade) first. |

Hi. These pics are edited to look better, the sim's body is not as smooth in-game.
There is no point in trying to save time on advertising an item you spent weeks making.

Have studied light and render for a while. But feel like mine render still look not attractive enough compared with other excellent mod creators. Have seen staff recommended to let render as close as possible to the game. Tried to analyze the lights in some cc creator's pictures and it feels very natural. example. And some pic seem didnt have complex background to create lights. I also afraid I will overdo the render if make the background complex. I only know add sky texture and maybe add some lights in dark place when try to make the pic natural. And the result isn't very nice. mine renderblender |

Your goal is to give an accurate preview of your content. If what players see in-game is dramatically worse from what they saw in the preview, they will be unnhappy. The background has no significant impact on how your content is perceived ( so long its not, like, a bunch of sims behind your main one), its the lights and material settings that can make it much better than it actually is. Your render has very strong lights. Many details you worked so hard to add to the hat arent visible because of it. It also casts harsh shadows that do not exist in ts4. Also, a suggestion unrelated to the render. Make sure that it is clear from the preview what exactly is being offered. Since your sim has a lot of cc, it may be unclear. So you should either mention what it is ( name of the item in big text ) or add some additional pics of the hat alone For example, here it is clear that its hair that is being offered Here it is unclear
Most people look for content from cc finds type of websites or pinterest, so they dont see the headline where the name is mentioned. |

Thanks for your reply about render and make the preview clear about what exactly it being offered. I seem to have made a few mistakes with overexposure. The problem maybe caused by the light color cc is a bit overexposure in my cas even I removed light cc. Not sure it caused by what. Have adjusted the light and hope I have made an accurate preview now. Feel I am not sensitive to exposure enough. render. Feel maybe the render is still not attractive enough? Not sure whether I can get some suggestions in improving it. If no, at least I feel my right exposure is a big problem and need some suggestions so I can make sure it is alright. blender |

Yes, this looks accurate
You can play with the result in the image editing program. Easier to control things there
If youd like, you can bring back the rim light. While it does not exist in ts4, people understand that. Whereas if the light creates additional shadows that make the mesh look more complex, they may expect that in ts4 as well and be disappointed they are not there

Have done photo editing. Plan to add information about what exactly it offered after get some feedback about whether the photo editing is attractive enough. Besides, want to show you that based on your help I have made some progress in making a better (at least better than before) image. image |
