Can you guys help me. When i click 'create 3D mesh' in sims 4 studio and i export it, it doesn't save it as a .blend file but instead saves it as a .dds file. I cannot open it in blender and i have tried reinstalling both blender and the sims 4 studio (sugar) but it is still the same thing. When i rename it into .blend format and open it in blender, it doesn't show anything. It has never done this before during the time i usually create meshes. But now that i decided to start creating meshes again, i downloaded the programs and it started behaving this way. I hope it is not the dds plugin i used for Photoshop because i had it back then too and it was working perfectly. Please help me!!!!!!!!

Hi quteebee, welcome to Studio forums. Once you've cloned the item, saved the .package, and it's showing in the Model Viewer, you need to click the Meshes tab this will change the right side panel and now you can click the Export Mesh button This will allow you to save a .blend file that can be opened in Blender so you can edit the mesh or swap it for a new one. If you're trying to make a recolor you won't need to do this. Instead you should export from the Texture tab as a .dds or .png and open that file with a 2D editor like Photoshop, paint.NET, or GIMP for editing/changing.

Thanks that was really helpful but one more thing. When i have created my mesh already and i tried to save it into the original and open it up in sims 4 studio but it is not showing the mesh. I just made a very simple necklace to test it out but it is not showing it in sims 4 studio. Did i make a mistake?

If your new mesh is not showing in Studio it may be that you did not change the cut number so it matches the cut number of the EA item that you cloned. You can change that in Blender here: The cut number field is what Studio uses to determine which mesh you want to replace and what mesh it should replace that mesh with. It needs to be the same as whatever the EA mesh cut number is that corresponds to the mesh you want yours to replace.
