I wasnt sure what to put for merge by distance when selecting the bottom part, so I put 0.01 and unselected. whether I did this or not in game, the leg of the sim comes through the skirt at the bottom. I deleted faces behind the skirt to avoid this (right). how do I fix this? or do you think the skirt should just be longer? deleting faces was difficult because part of the skirt covers half faces and if I delete those I delete the sims leg (or am I wrong?) the offset in md was like 8, the pressure was neg slightly, fabric wasn't changed at all and I made it rather large, particle distance was 15, avatar was smooth, exported it (thin, weld and m) Skirt in game linkdo you suggest I fix it to have more offset in MD again or is it something to do with merge distance...

my poke offset was also around .050 i think... I could also just keep the skirt bottom low if thats a reason

The point of merging by distance is to merge overlapping vertices into one and remove these seams. The avatar is very small, about 2 millimeters. You need to use extremely small values. The default value of 0.0001 was correct. If your mesh is selected, then you do not need to enable "unselected". Your offset in Poke was too high, so the deleted area of legs becomes visible during movement. Select a vertex in the middle of this geometry and move it lower. If this wont help, remove the body and add a new one, with less of legs deleted.

I fixed it all, but the skirt still doesn't appear game ready, I re did the skirt longer to see if that was a reason, like maybe it was to short? but the same thing happened again just in the butt area instead of the front like the mini skirt I showed before. I re did the MD skirts with different clones of skirts all from scratch but the same problem still appears. it looks decent in blender and s4s but just not in game when she moves or stands certain ways. is there anything else in blender I can do to correct this ya think? Here is a short clip of what I mean. link

It still happens regardless of the faces I delete as well This is not related to that issue.
Make sure you are seeing the most up to date file. If the issue persists, share your blend and package files

I ended up using briefs bottoms as a reference and it solved the weirdness. what would be your avenue to bake the texture? I am not sure why its not working when I bake, I hid all the rig and the cameras, put a plane down, added a new image, made it 1024/2048, sampled it 500. but nothing changes when I bake it, cycles, denoised it, clicked ambient conclusion and I seleced my skirt only and made sure it wasnt overlapping.

Your skirt will move like legs instead of a skirt
Select the image node to which you are baking. I cannot tell what you’re doing wrong without seeing what you’re doing, please always provide the files that are giving you problems

The moment you encounter a problem, you save the file under a different name and share with me. I need to see what the scene was like right when you encountered that problem. Without it, all i can do is explain how it should be done, which you've already seen in the video - create the floor; - disable rendering for Ref and bottom under the rig; - select your garment, in edit mode select everything with A, create a new material with +, then click on New, then on Assign. The whole mesh should have one material. The one from MD has textures of different sizes that do not align with uvs, make whatever modification you want later; - expand the timeline and change it to Shader editor; - Add - Texture - Image texture, click on New, change height to 2048, click on New image; - select this node; - in Render tab choose Cycles, GPU if available; - expand Sampling and Render, change Samples to 500; - expand Bake, choose Ambient occlusion, Margin's size to 6, hit Bake

okay! thanks for the tip on that I managed to get a diffuse image that I edited in photoshop, although it wasn't perfect, should I post a new thread if I have any more questions or post on this one? I'd like advice on creating clothing not based off of a reference, soley, because every time I use a skirt reference or dress reference there is shading on parts of the body as though the ref outfit is still there like in the pictures i sent prior, looks like shes wearing thigh high stockings. I haven't messed with it since the other day so I don't have any new files to share. I just want to find a way around this problem because my clothes are all very short.

This is a shadow map that you need to delete or make a proper one. How to do the later is shown in the texture baking tutorial you watched Clothing is always made based on the reference because you need to transfer data from somewhere. Nude legs are also a reference.
