Apologies if my question is answered elsewhere, I tried searching and didn't find anything.
I made a custom piece of art using Sims 4 Studio 1.4.2.2. (Aurora) on my Macbook. I did a standalone recolor of an object and selected the 3 tile painting. After I imported my image everything showed up correctly in Build/Buy mode but the object will not go on any walls even if i resize it. It's totally red. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
ETA the closest thing to help I could find was this post but i do not understand how to apply what it says to my situation.
Here's the link to the package link

Hi. Im not sure what exactly it is that you did differently, but when re-done, it seems to work fine, so try this: - in s4s main menu choose Standalone recolor and click on Object; - filter by Custom, choose 3 tiles painting, Next, save in ts4's Mods folder; - import your diffuse in Texture tab

thank you for your help, mauvemorn ! this is likely a very stupid question but this is my first time trying to make cc. after i import the diffuse in the texture tab, how do i get this in my game from the mods folder to test it? thanks again!
i feel like there is a step i'm somehow missing...i am very confused and now that i've put the file in the mods folder it comes up as a custom option but copying the pkg to my ea folder it's still not working.

You need to put the file in Documents/Electronic arts/The Sims 4/Mods folder, not in s4s’s mods folder.

yes, i tried that and it still didn't work. I'm going to start from the beginning again: 1. in s4s select object standalone recolor
2. select custom content studio recolorables (highlighted in blue here) and create the package in my sims 4 mods folder (not the s4s mods folder) this is what my screen shows3. after removing the swatches i won't need, i click on the blue texture and then click export it this is what my screen shows4. in gimp i open the exported texture and it looks like this this is what my screen showscan you please tell me if things are going right so far? i tried adding pics to this post but it didn't work.

You seem to be doing everything right. The difference may be due to us having different versions ( i use the one for windows) I will ask ts4 developer to take a look at this file, for now try using a maxis painting instead
