Cas Lighting Mod Making Hair Dark

I download a bunch of hairs from the creator icchi and most of them have sections of hair that are darker than the rest. I don't believe this is intentional. What is causing this and how do I fix it. edit: right after I posted I had a thought that maybe it was my cas lighting. And it was. But I'd still like to figure out how to stop these pieces from getting darker if I use a cas lighting mod.
