Unusual occurrence, Please bear with me.
The game worked fine after the Dec. update. I decided to try my hand at re-coloring with the Sims4Studio. Accomplished a new .package. Went to start the game up and much to my surprise the Sims4 would not start. There is no greying of the start button or anything like that. When I click start I get the little spinning of the Windows circle and then nothing.
What I have done so far to get the game running;
Uninstalled the .package nothing
Uninstalled the Sims4Studio nothing
Repaired the Sims4 nothing
As a test I re-installed the Sims3 it is working just fine. Still the Sims4 will not start
Uninstalled/reinstalled the Sims4 nothing
Uninstalled/re-installed Origin nothing
Re-booted my PC several times nothing
I am at a loss. I have windows 10 running version 15.11
Any help would be appreciated. Thank You.
I have also posted this on the EA Forums.
PS..I'm unfamiliar with your forum so if I have placed this in the wrong area I will have no hard feelings if you tell me so. Just let me know where to post this topic. Thanks!

Hi microsteve does Windows Event Viewer show any relevant looking entries? Maybe Sims 4 is (silently) crashing. I know that only the latest Sims 4 Studio (Sugar) will work with Sims 4 (since the Dec 4 update) but I wouldn't expect Sims 4 to fail, especially if you took your new .package file out of the mods folder.

microsteve have you installed any mods or custom content recently? That Sims 4 not starting happened to me when I accidentally dropped some Sims 3 custom content packages in the Mods folder of my Sims 4 game. When I deleted them it worked fine again. Moving them out of the Mods folder also solves it. You can try selecting all of your custom content (in your Mods folder of your Sims 4 game), cutting and pasting it out to another location, if your game works without it, you can then copy and paste everything back one by one, testing every time to see if it works, thus finding which mod "disrupts" your game. It can be a pain but is necessary sometimes - though now I am just careful to make sure all content I put in is for The Sims 4 (I do download and put in almost daily and it all works ok 29 days out of 30). Also, could you view your recolour ok in the Sims 4 Studio? Like you saw a preview of how it looked? Just in case it got corrupted and the game doesn't start because it can't read it properly.

Thanks to the both of you above. Yes I was running the (SUGAR) version with the Dec. update and I was able to view my new .Package file in the viewer. Funny thing though, I had not added any new mods before trying out the Studio. I had already repaired the Sims 4 before I had re-installed the Sims 3. So as believe&become had mentioned the Mods Folder I took a quick peek and there were non cc files from the Sims 3 in my sims 4 Mod Folder after the uninstall/reinstall of the Sims 4. I deleted my entire mods folder and BINGO, the game now runs. Unfortunately I still do not understand what or how this came about but at least I get to start all over! Now the Tedium...try to figure out what happened. Thanks again to; believe&become and fufu508!

No problem microsteve we're here to help! Glad to hear it's working again but I'm sorry you lost your saved games, had you been playing long? Next time try checking out the mods folder before installing everything over, hopefully you won't have that again. I've never had any problems with S4S that I can think of that crashed the game, it's always been faulty mods/cc or lack of updates that made it not start. When putting all the mods/cc back, if you have lots of it, what I do is put them in in groups of 5 and try starting it up after pasting every 5, so as to go a bit faster. My " cheat" for finding out if it's for The Sims 3 (or some other Sims game) is arranging the files BY DATE - if the package was created before September 2014, it can't be for The Sims 4 as Sims 4 was released on the 1st September 2014. It's not surefire, because there are still Sims 3 custom content created after that date, but my point is there can't be any Sims 4 custom content dated before Sept 2014. Hope it helps.

DmitryMalfatto @ Mod the Sims has a conflict detector that I use. It will tell you if you have files for another game in your Mods folder.
