I don't know where to post this question, but since I wish to 'create' a new career, so I posted it here. I want to create two careers. 1. Actor and 2. Adult Actor. All I do for now is put a camera, which I made using the lovely Sims 4 studio, on every place where I want to shoot a scene. I would love to create a custom career, but the traditional method is long drawn and includes a host of programs. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

We can look into what goes into making a custom career to see if Studio can make them currently or would need an update to do so. Do you know of any good tutorials that go over the current process?

Just going to hop in since I would LOVE if S4S was able to help with custom careers- There's a tutorial here (all 5 parts are there, just in reverse order) by the creator of the Education career on MTS.

Ah, you beat me to helping her with the tutorial!! Darn my different timezone.... :'(
Anyways, Orangemittens, dear, as you can clearly see, that's the only tutorial and it requires running soooo many programs whose extraction data, etc can boggle any newbie script modder's mind. And the process is so hard and long drawn so maybe that's why custom careers for Sims 4 is quite unheard of (I mean, Education is the only custom career that i know of, you may know of more idk). So, what do you think? Will you help us, please?

Thank you for the link. I looked at the tutorial and it looks like custom careers require editing of the Data resource. Currently Studio is not working with that resource but the plan is for it to do so in the next beta series after Sugar. The goal for Sugar is to finish the basics of Studio's custom content management features and we're just about there. All that remains is to optimize Studio's merge/unmerge capabilities. Once that's done Sugar will go to the community tested position and we can focus on other features in the new beta. The Data resource is one feature already on the list

The Data resource is one feature already on the list I know no one has posted here in a while, but it saves opening a new threat when posting here is just as useful (if not more useful). This is my first post here too, so hey y'all!! As quoted in the statement above, Sugar isn't capable of editing the Data Resource (which is needed to create customer careers, apparently) yet, apparently Studio will be adding that in the next beta, which as far as I have seen is Jackpot? (Correct me if I am wrong haha) Was wondering if Sims 4 Studio is now able to make customer careers? I ask this cause the lack of decent careers is one of my biggest dislikes of the Sims 4 currently. If this is the case has anyone had any success? Any tutorials available? Cause I can't find any anywhere Any help would be most grateful. Thanks!

Hello there! I came back after a long while!! Been on a hiatus due to health concerns... Anyways, just wanted to know, if the custom careers got any progress?
Also, I've last used Sugar and it was unable to work on some statues. So, was wondering if they were editable now? I mean with Harmony?

Studio is able to edit the Data resource and it can make custom careers. There are a couple careers made using Sims 4 Studio uploaded in the AOM Creator Studio that Andrew and I share

How does one edit the data resource to make the custom career?

When you add a tuning resource into your package, Studio will automatically include the corresponding data resource if there is one. Then you edit it to match the changes you made in the tuning resource. I posted a brief introduction tutorial that shows how to modify a career mod that may help illustrate what I mean. That is HERE.
