Hello, I have an issue with merging packages, I merged some files of the same creator and those seem to be working just fine but I merged my Buy folder and Build folder into two packages, one is 561 MB and the other one is 451 MB and when I opened my game it said that several items had been deleted from my game even though there weren't any problems during packing them but now most of my cc doesn't show up.. help =/
I've backed it up so I didn't lose anything it's just that cc slows your game down pretty fast so by merging it I wanted the game to be faster..

Hi gelysen, if you can pick out specific items that failed to show up in your game even though they apparently merged successfully it would be helpful to have a few example items to look at and see what's going wrong. This series of Studio (Sugar) will be getting an overhaul to the merge feature at some point so information about specific items that aren't merging correctly is needed.

Are there any special stipulations when merging packages? For example, with the Sims 4 Package Editor, you had to keep build/buy and CAS items in different merged files. Does that apply here? Is there a maximum number of files that I can merge into one? Or maybe a max number of megs or something??

Hi pinkvon69, I never tried using different categories like build/buy and CAS, but I think there will be no problem doing that. It can be tested really fast of course if it does or doesn't. About the number of files you can merge, there is no real max that I know of. There are people who merged over 100 files, even maybe over 1000 so there Mods folder became a lot less full.

When I merge my packages and store them in my Mods folder, the merged packages all conflict with each other, even though the items in the packages are completely different. It's preventing my game from running, so my only other option is to store all of my CC unmerged.
Any ideas?

rachizzley, can you send me a few examples of items that conflict after merging? Also, are you removing the unmerged versions from your mods folder? Merging packages will not touch the original packages, so if you save a merged package directly to your mods folder, it will conflict with all of the unmerged versions of them. ell1esims, you can merge packages on the mac version. It is in the tools menu just like the Windows version. If you don't see that option, check that you have the latest version of Sims 4 Studio for Mac (version 1.1.0.2).

okay, so I merged some packages from my cc folders (biggest had more than 100 packages), I put the merged files into mods folder and a lot of hair that didn't show up in my game (for example all of Kiara's hair). Does anyone have idea why? Are there any kind of cc that can't be merged or is this an issue of too much cc in one file?
Also, there was 2 clayfied hair styles that didn't show up in my game before I've merged files even though the alpha hair wasn't there anymore. :D (and I was wondering why did I have those alpha hair).
Edit: Never mind, I'm just dumb and I've accidentally deleted them when I was clearing out cc folder.

Hi llamaskittles, I suspect there might be a piece of CC in your folder that Studio is unable to merge which it is, for some reason, not reporting to you. Can you take a look in your Documents/Sims 4 Studio/Logs folder to see if there is an error message there related to your merge attempts?

Not sure if this is the correct thread. How can I add new package files after I've merged my files with Sims4Studio? Thanks.

Hi tigersimi53, you should be able to merge the merged.package and the new content to make a new merged.package in the same way you made the first merged.package. That is, you can choose the merge package feature and then add those items to the box of items that are to be merged and then merge them.
