wintersoldier yes I know about the Spanish surname! People tend to classify me as Hispanic rather than Asian because of my second last name - I cannot say it is completely wrong as I do have some very, very distant Spanish blood, but it's much more realistic to say that I have dark hair and tan skin from being part Filipina, not Spanish. Also I found it mildly irritating that since I live in Spain and here it's custom to add your mother's last name, which is Hispanic in origin ( Martir, in my case), the Spanish teachers CORRECT THE SPELLING - as in, OK, I understand that here you write it "Mártir" and have done so for centuries, but the fact that your ancestors came over to rape mine does not give you the right to override the fact that my people, though we have inherited and appreciate many things from Spaniards, are under no obligation to keep it "as it was originally", on the contrary, it's normal and morally correct to modify the colonial impositions to comply with our cultural heritage/preferences. But it's a minor issue, I don't get mad about it, I just state it. I learnt something interesting yesterday I wanted to share with you. Quite a few of the concept artists on EA for TS4 are Filipino, as follows (I wonder if this is his self sim): 1) Deiv Calviz, who worked on basegame clothes and kitchen: His website is HERE. 2) He worked alongside Alex Flores, another Filipino, this is also something they worked on together: He also worked on Sims 3 Medieval, you can see some of his work HERE. 3) From her name and the fact she is based in Makati, Philippines, I believe Gizelle Karen Baluso is also Filipina, she worked on some basegame rooms too: A link to her gallery is HERE. 4) I would guess that Roman Pangilinan is also Filipino, but I am not sure. He worked on Luxury Party and Spooky Stuff, here is some of his work: There is a link HERE to his blog. I'm sure there are more. I did see lots of other Asians working, Albert & Kim Truong (I'm so grateful for the Star Wars stuff they did), Vance Wu, Josephine Liang (I love the industrial kitchen she did), Stephanie Lew (Movie Hangout furniture textures, Windenburg concept art)... Yeah, I did my homework I wanted to know who made the stuff I like and give them tribute - it's nice to speak to SimGurus, but I believe the mainly unnamed artists deserve at least the same, if not more, respect and honor. Also, it would be nice for them to get recognition in case they can get a promotion, or if they are currently out of work, to get a good job, so employers know they have a following/appreciation for their work.

Wow! That's definitely cool stuff. Some people may think it doesn't matter because it's just a small thing, but it actually does to see people from your country doing really cool stuff (The Miss Universe 2016 is a really big deal for us!) I'm also a comic book fan (Marvel), and I like doing Superhero CC stuff (just recolors though). There are a lot of Filipino comic book artists too, but not enough Filipino comic book superheroes that aren't DEAD! and a major character. Seriously, all the Filipino characters in Marvel comics got killed off...

You say you're not mad about it, yet you bring up the colonization of Philipines by Spaniards (which wasn't a "colonization", actually). We're in the 21st century! stop with that, already. And, to be more accurate, in case of rape, those people would be YOUR ancerstors, not the Spaniards'. I think you need to learn a little bit of history; the real one, not the biased version of it. Aaaaand, hispanic is not a race (Spaniards are white, period), in any case would be an etnithity (although Latin Americans and Spanish customs are not the same, they mostly share the language, that would be their most common point).

I am a proud Nigerian. Have been to so many European countries but stayed most in Germany for 8 years and now am back to Nigeria. I speak good and fluent English, speak and understand German, Speak my native language Igbo (which have more than 12 dialects).Am currently trying to learn Korean language and I must say its not that easy Man, I read a novel from Chimamanda Adichie and your country and language fascinated me! I am from Brazil. I speak Brazilian Portuguese as a native language and good English, I guess. I also started to learn German and Russian, but never went very far. Know a couple words in a few other languages, just for fun.

Hi risperanto! Yes you are quite right in many things you say - they are indeed also my ancestors! Also, you are right about Hispanic not really being a race - my husband (who is Spanish by the way) and I often comment about the fact that in the United States it is considered so whereas here in Spain they are considered white. One thing I love about Spain though is that there is a very rich cultural and ethnic heritage, amongst others there is Celtic, Germanic, Moorish, and Jewish (amongst others) elements that have endured both in language and lifestyle. I really loved learning about Al-Andalus here in high school, certainly it was a time of splendor where Spain was one of the leading authorities (or perhaps "the" leading authority) in science and medicine in the world and the beauty of Granada is just spectacular. So where are you from? Welcome by the way! And indiaskapie I second you totally and would love to know where our beloved moderators are from!

It's so awesome to know more about you guys! It's incredible how wide world our forum is! As for me I'm from Uruguay. I was born and still live here. My native language is spanish and I also learned english along school. I wish in the future to take more language classes. Especially German, Russian and French. Those are the ones that interest me the most.

Aw! This is a surprise, thank you for tagging me! I'm from Buenos Aires, Argentina.Born & raised. I really like it here, so i don't have any plans of moving anytime soon. Though i'd like to visit Portugal some day, most of my family is from there. I can count with my hand the number of Argentinians i know from the fandom.. i always get very happy when someone comes up to me and tells me it's from here too, makes it special since there's no many around Also, i try to stay true to myself, and create/show things that are from here and that not many ppl know about.

Mathcope You want to speak German? Naahh...learn to speak Dutch instead it's much more fun and we can talk to each other then andrew , is it because of Trump only or would you say the same if Obama was still president? Industrisims + indiaskapie , I can read that African very well too as it's half Dutch of course! In Dutch that question and answer would be: "Hoe gaat het?" & "Het gaat hier goed, dank je!"
