If the vertices are all orange this means they are all selected. To de-select them click the a key on your computer keyboard. The a key acts as a toggle for all vertices selected or all vertices de-selected. Once you click it all the vertices should turn black allowing you to more selectively select using the box select (b key on your computer keyboard). No worries about being new to Blender...everyone who knows how to use Blender started out asking questions

So I tried shortening a shirt into a crop top and now the bottom of it is blue, its like a reflection. Plus theres brown on her skin and it looks like its from the original design of the shirt. I dont know what to do about that.

xx40daysxx upload your .blend to a file host and link it here so I can have a look, I think I know what is wrong but it will be easier to have a look and show you.

So, that fixed towel (robe) mod of mine still isn't fixed. Just went to the Spa, and did some yoga, and...well: Does it have something to do with the fact I get the robe from the Spa, and not from a dresser or something? I made it a replacer, so I can't see what could be wrong. Same old robe as before. Do I need to tick "Robe" in Sub-Parts in S4S or something? Opening the package in S4S showed the right cap placement again. seems like the only thing that doesn't know the robe is made right is...the game. My game, at least.

Opening the package in S4S showed the right cap placement again. seems like the only thing that doesn't know the robe is made right is...the game. My game, at least. I think there's more to it than I originally thought. On further inspection, I noticed the towel looks right when I'm walking, but the second I'm involved in any animation other than a walk, like sitting or yoga, the towel will spawn a cap, cutting off the legs with the obnoxious white circle. Either I missed a LOD (don't think I did), or something else is adding a replacement cap for all animations besides walking, like there's another mysterious version of my towel made somewhere in the files or something. What do I do? I noticed the same thing with other clothing mods I made, and I didn't even realize the cap was spawning until I decided to test this on my other clothes. It seems all skirts and such will grow their own cap when a sim does anything but walk. There's gotta be something I can about this...

Just wanted to add that this step was very confusing- I figured it out by Googling more about the Bounding box function. Would be helpful to add to the original post that after selecting B, you need to use the left click on the mouse to select the mesh, otherwise nothing happens ^_^ Thanks for the tutorial- hopefully I can do this successfully!

ok so i got it but I thinki might of over done the cuting of the mesh possabley cause got some gaps at the edge? i77.photobucket.com/albums/j64/Larein/Larein024/goldskirt_zpsedqjbbn7.jpg i was assuming he ment not the whole skirt when he said , was ther stoping point before the deleting of the skirt part in the s4_studio mesh was joined.caue all I did was highlight the skirt not the legs. and delet that part like it said.

"The Sims 4 Studio requires Blender 2.70 to be installed, but it seems that you are using 2.76. Would you like to download and install version 2.70 now?"
Is there any way around this or do I have to install the older version?

No you need the older version, 2.76 has issues that cannot be fixed at this stage, we have tried it.

I noticed it look like a skirt with legging where the rest of the skirt used to be before the cutting, is it suppose to do that when you import the mesh back to the s4s and then whe I put the new texture over it it then show up the way I intened and then test in game It shows the shadows on the legs . but I how don't have the gap's on the legs like before I had to go back fix it to where I didn't cut the mesh so far down. i77.photobucket.com/albums/j64/Larein/Larein026/new%20skirt_zpskuz4tnoo.jpg

I'm not sure how to get the bottom of the skirt to go together black at the bottom so it's closed? I'm using a patterned skirt, if that changes anything. I can click lines in the triangles, but not the full circle so I can extrude the region and continue on with the mesh. I can't upload a picture from my computer without linking it somewhere, so I can do that tomorrow if you need a picture. Thanks in advance for the help! <3
