(Hi all, first post in here and before everything thank you VERY MUCH to everyone involved in this amazing project, together with the tutorials, posts, replies - such a helpful community.)I'm trying to come back from modding way back at TS2 times and not only Sims 4 Studio is a god-sent tool as the tutorials themselves are very good. A few people have asked this(...) Thank you MisterS for this tutorial - I prefer to learn by example and yours was just what I needed. Then I tried to test something only to learn about how things work on TS4, shortening the male towel wrap as default replacement. After a few tries on the tutorial steps it looked like it worked alright: This was made overriding the first (because we'll have 2 if Spa Day is installed, I guess) full-body towel plush outfit for adult males. I had appended the nude full-body for males as the tutorial showed. Everything seemed fine, but then looking closer: Black lines, almost like if some UV is messed up. At the right side (and only there) of the legs two spots where the black artifacts also show up. I thought it could have been messy UVs, since I had to remap the towel part, but at Blender everything seems fine: (at the Studio preview everything seems fine too, only ingame the black artifacts show up) Any idea on what could be happening there? I've even tried exporting the meshes from the TOP and BOTTOM nudes and replacing the full-body nude (and then joining everything again) to see if it was that but same results. Removing doubles also didn't help. (Thank you again for all your help)

edd It looks like a Shadow map problem to me. You can try THIS and THIS tutorial. If that doesn't solve the problem post your files, .package and .blend so someone can take a look.

So much so, I forgot to update you!!! I actually got it to work and come to find that I WAS indeed skipping a step! I'm also having this same problem. :/ Hey mstoxicity, I found an easy solution if you're still having problems trying to select the bottom edge of your shortened skirt mesh: 1. These are the settings I used. The shortened skirt mesh is selected, edge selection is turned on and backfaces are visible. 2. Pressing "B," select the bottom most horizontal lines of the skirt. 3. You should end up with the bottom edge of the skirt selected. Let me know if you still need help!

I have to ask, I'm still a beginner in blender and I'm trying to figure out the best way to select the edges. Not sure what edge select mode is. What is the best way to do this? Thanks

Thanks To be able to use edge select you need to switch to Edit Mode and then change your selection from vertices to edges. To change it to edit mode you will need to go down to the dropdown menu where it says "Object Mode", open it and the option to change it to Edit Mode which should be one of the options. Along the same bar, you'll find three little boxes where different parts of them are glowing. By default, it will be selected on the box with a glowing corner which means it select vertices, but if you want to select edges you need to change it to the box that has the edge glowing. This is what your window should look like after changing these options:

anitram then search for youtube lessons in your language. There are tons of them in every language. Or do you mean that you don't understand tutorial? In this case the only thing that can help is google translate...

Hello! I'm having a bit of an issue with a mesh I'm trying to shorten. It's a full body dress, for starters, which I know is a whole different story, but no matter what I do in blender, the mesh shows up longer in S4S. I'm just curious if anyone might know why or what I'm doing wrong.
I know you said not to simply delete the bottom portions of the mesh so what I did was scale them waaaaay down and hide them up in the torso area. Well, that didn't work.
My second attempt I think I just tried hiding the bottom parts and then joining the whole mesh so it was one object. That had no effect on anything from what I could tell.
This time I tried just appending a different full body outfit for the skirt potion, getting rid of the bottom half of the original mesh entirely, and yet it STILL shows up in S4S! It sticks out from under the new mesh, not as long as the original, but still longer than the new mesh is supposed to be.
I'll admit I'm new to blender and I'm still learning my way around a lot of the aspects of meshing, but I think I've done everything properly, in terms of shortening/frankenmeshing. If anyone would like the .package or .blend files I'm working with to see if you can figure it out, let me know.
(so so sorry if this issue has already been dealt with somewhere and I missed it!!!!)
