Flora now? Man, lots of S4S' out there. I was using Alice. Flora has all the same options and more? I saw the tutorials. So, you and your wife mod the Sims in every way? Meshes, Textures, Animations...all that? Dude, I gotta get a wife like that! It'll be my profession when I graduate. I'm gonna go through the whole class you 2 made, and orangemittens has all kinds of helpful stuff going on here too, so this is basically my favorite site at this point. Mod, mod, mod! :D Thanks for everything, everyone. I'm gonna go make...something. Lots of stuff. Next task: Find out how to add my own pictures to the Painting Skill paintings sims paint themselves, like TS2. Even on PlayStation2 you could do that with the Eye-Toy for TS2. :-/

Oh Wise One: I followed your tutorial as best I could. Now I am stuck. What do I do now, to edit the alpha to get the texture off the legs? Thank you for any advice you can give me. Edit: Just saw your shadow tutorial...going to try that right now!! Success!! Here is my new shorter skirt! Thanks for your awesome tutorials!!

The caption below the picture illustrating the Append step says, "Browse to where you saved the nude LOD earlier, click on it, click on object, then click on s4studio_mesh_1."

You will need to edit the texture in a program similar to Photoshop, Paint.Net, or GIMP. I have created a texturing tutorial using all three of those programs (link in sig). Photoshop and GIMP both need a .dds plugin while Paint.net does not. Paint.Net and GIMP are free. Get the Photoshop plugin hereGet GIMP hereGet the GIMP plugin hereGet Paint.net here

I have seen your tut's a few times already :D and i have all those programs with the plugins, maybe i just dont understand your tut about texture and for me it seems that they only show how to recolor everything, but i need to recolor only some part and with skin color and I dont know where that black part is on her legs in the texture So i feel a little lost here hehe

MisterS, would it be possible for you to make a tutorial on how to do the same with maxi skirts? For ex. this skirt (which is my favourite). One of the meshes is this shortened version on the right. That's exactly what I'm looking for. I've decided to be a smartass and just deleted all the other meshes in Blender but of course in S4S and in the game the skirt is still floor-length.

dynnot - on the first page, second last picture is the uv map with the texture on it, you need to delete the texture that is below the uvmap in photoshop or what ever it is you use, as it it still on the legs until you do.
j - I'm assuming you mean the maxi dress with its multiple meshes on the bottom, to make it shorter you have to delete the lower ones completely first before you can shorten the main mesh, which it seems like you tried so you know it wont work, I dunno why, it wont work for me either.
What I have experimented with though is in edit mode delete 99% of the mesh leaving one face, and drag that face up into the body somewhere where it is hidden, I have not tried this out much in the game though.
