Well, it seems I have been hit with the "theft" bug. I have discovered two of my files floating where they shouldn't. I create under the name of DragonQueen and upload exclusively to The Sims Resource. (I know, I know...) Anyway, I have discovered my Kyanite Blue evening gown and my Henna Hands at these sites:
Sims 4 Planet at sims4planet.net/%D0%BD%D0%BE%D0%B2%D0%BE%D1%81%D1%82%D0%B8/Kyanite-Blue-by-DragonQueen
Sims3Pack.ru at sims3pack.ru/sims-4/tatuirovki/11467-henna-hands-ot-dragonqueen.html
Everything.kz has posted my Henna Hands with a link going to Sims3Pack.ru at everything.kz/post/42424725/36212
Simov4.net did remove my Kyanite Blue evening gown after I contacted them via email requesting they do so. I have written to the others on a daily basis and am still waiting for them to respond and/or pull the files. I fear Google Translate may be failing me. (The sites are all Russian, not a language I speak. lol)
As I am pretty new to creating, I value each and every one of my followers and downloads. I am really quite annoyed about this issue. I know I should take it as the "backhanded compliment" that it is, but....it's not easy...
That's a bummer. Maybe you can try to find russian people on this forum that can help you contact to the russian websites? And also mention your problem on tsr, maybe they can help too..

I already contacted TSR Admin. Their response: "It's always a pain to see that some people simply take creations from someone else and upload it on their own site. It does happen a quite a lot unfortunately, and it's certainly something we're also not happy with. Contacting the admins of those sites usually doesn't help much I'm afraid. What you could do, is see how they have organized the downloading of the files. If the files are stored somewhere on a download hosting sites (for instance mediafire), then you could try reporting it there. Some of those file hosting sites will remove easily and some will not even reply. But that's something you could try. Other than that, try not to be too much upset by it. See it as a side effect of being Sim famous Don't let the fact that it's happening take away your creativity and your joy in creating. That's not worth it." While I agree that it's a pity someone would do this, it doesn't help ease the frustration. I will continue to email these sites in an attempt to have the files removed. Although, at this point, I'm thinking I'm S.O.L.

Getting stuff stolen is sucky. There's a bit of a tumblr convo happening re. Sims3pack.ru but as you sort of indicate getting a hold of people from other countries is rough.

Oh, it's gotten worse. Sims3Pack.ru has modified my original images to direct users to their website and the Henna Hands file has now appeared on Everything.kz (https://everything.kz/post/42424725/36212) directing users to Sims3Pack.ru. It feels like Sims3Pack.ru decided to spam my creation. I have contacted Everything.kz and informed them that the file was stolen by Sims3Pack.ru and am waiting to see what they do.
How desperate is Sims3Pack.ru that they're willing to resort to theft to get users and downloads???

Although it's not my creation, I feel your frustration. It's very childish of sims3pack.ru to react this way. If these people spend their time stealing other peoples stuff into learning how they could make CC their selfs it would be much better for everyone.

I agree with you, Bakie. Not only would their sales/traffic increase, but their reputation would be untarnished. Maybe I'm naïve, but I've always thought reputation was important, even online. Their behavior doesn't look good for them.

They don't care about the reputation they have on this side of the community. They are Russian and they have their own client base. There are a lot of ppl that don't speak English and don't even bother to go to an English website. In general a casual user looking for CC will not bother to know if the CC he is downloading is original, if the real owner is hosting the file or anything else. Even if the community seams big the non community CC users group is even bigger and they don't pay attention or even care. They want the product not the creator. I found my CCs in many Russian( and surrounding) websites/forums. Most of them at least put my name on. Many of them don't even have a report option. Sadly it's impossible to stop them. I would like to remind you that there is a part of our community that actively steal/edit and release as their own lots of CCs. Most of them say that they can do it because it is free or some other excuse. I wish we could put a copyright on it but try to imagine if we protected our CCs and took action for every single CCs that gets stolen. We would need lots of ppl doing this all day lol. Long story short. It sucks that our products are stolen. It is all about the ppl and sadly a group of them are no good( censored my self :P)

Thank you, untraditionalnerd, for my bout of laughter at you're self-censorship comment! I have been doing a LOT of self-censorship lately. You bring up many wonderfully valid points. While I know the Sims community is vast, and I know that rampant theft of CC happens all the time, I still find myself amazed and appalled by it. I've only been creating Sims 4 content since March 2015. I had hoped to become talented enough to create desirable content. I guess at least as far as my "misappropriated" items are concerned, I succeeded. lol I am trying hard to take it as the backhanded compliment it is. Yeah, that's it: "I've gone global." *sigh*

I wouldnt be too concerned about them Russian sites, i doubt they know what they are doing, we had one that was hotlinking one of our files, we put a hotlinking block on our server so if you try you will just get redirected to our main page, that was 6 months ago, we still get traffic form the site cos they keep doing it.

I checked those sites and honestly speaking I don't agree that they stole meaning that they still put the name of creator. They didn't edit files claiming that it's some other user created content. Don't mean to protect them because they broke the rule about re-uploading the content that was forbidden for re-uploading. What I am trying to say that in their minds they don't care because they don't think that it's bad to upload CC. They won't change their mind and most likely they won't take it down. That sucks. But not worth your time, trust me.

It isn't impossible to get CC uploaded elsewhere get removed, as I already got it done. But in most cases it IS impossible. And I don't know if it's a coincidents but most of them are russian websites. But it's true that all non community people don't care who the creators are. But maybe maybe after a while when they see more and more nice stuff with your name on it, they're going to search for you on the internet and become community people as well and will respect the things you made and download it on the original place where you uploaded it too. So just keep making your own CC egyptiantigg (and everybody else) and after a while people starting to know you. I also started making CC for the Sims 4 when it just came out, never made any CC before that for any game at all and people starting to follow me here and on Youtube. And it just feels great to see people like/love the stuff your working on really hard sometimes.

Honestly, when CC shows up on non-english sites, as long as it Credited to the author, I never thought of it as stolen. Many of us post on english only sites, but most of the world doesn't speak english, so I always saw it more as "Here let me promote this person to you! They are Amazing!" and more of a kudos than a thievery. It's when they (or anyone) post it up with "Oh look what -I- made!" that I go -.- that's theft. I don't know if that makes sense but (way back in Sims 2) when I made the long dread mesh on MTS2 for testing I saw it later on both Russian and I -think- Chinese sites something it's been a long time. I was more flattered that someone thought my crappy mesh was awesome enough to post XD. They had me credited. DQ, your name is being spread around the world :D if anyone who downloads it does a google search for "Dragonqueen Sims 4" from seeing your name on the picture, it pulls up all your main pages and directs them to you ^_^

segersimsThere aren't many things we can do about russian sites I'm afraid. They also got a lot of my work: Bakie CC and probably from a lot of other CC creators too. Maybe we have to make a topic about where everybody comes from. So if we spot something on a site other then in your own language, we can help each other. But I don't think we can stop this site in any way. It could be me, but in most cases Russian people who made these kind of websites doesn't care at all about other Custom Content Creators and won't respond to emails or such.
