UPDATE
Soooo, I got the mesh to import by deleting extra UV maps and the transformBone, but now the whole thing is totally distorted and pieces are either missing or the wrong size and the wrong direction... even though it looked FINE in Blender. Heeeeeellllp!?? It looks like this: Instead of this: Hi all! So, I'm trying to create a crib for my mermaid and I pieced one together that I'm quite pleased with in Blender (please note that I am not claiming any of the art and/or meshes I used/altered and I am not sharing this project as my own)... but I can't seem to import it into Sims 4 Studio. (And yes, I know I have to have the invisible crib mod to make it work. I've got that downloaded already. :-D) I don't know if maybe it is too many appended pieces or something? The error message says it has a "vertex group transformBone that is not part of the mesh" I'm replacing, but I can't figure out where/what said "bone" is. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance! :-) Here's the error message: Here's my blender file: drive.google.com/file/d/0BwoUG6tZ8vpbUlhuWjNibzBFUms/view?usp=sharingHere's what I'm trying to make:

hi! the program is letting you know exactly which is the vertex group that isn't present on the original mesh. Head over to the vertex groups, select the bone and click the - button to remove it. edit: awkward! i replied the same minute you edited your post. Anyway, check that the cut numbers match the original mesh.

Hi aleniskendra, you have assigned your main mesh the cut number that should be assigned to the shadow plane. This number is usually 0000, although that isn't a rule observed in all objects. The shadow plane group, or any mesh given the cut number of the shadow plane group, will display the EA "blob" sheet in Studio and the game. The shadow plane group should not have a vertex group, and this is why when you first imported this mesh into the .package you received an error message informing you that a vertex group was present that should not be there. Once you removed the vertex group, Studio accepted the mesh in place of a plane, but it did so in a confused fashion because it is not expecting a 3D mesh and doesn't know what to do with that.
What you need to do is combine the two mesh groups you currently have to make a single mesh group. You need to give that mesh group the cut number of the main mesh in the original EA LOD. Then you need to create at least a single face to occupy the shadow plane group and give that group the cut number of the original shadow plane group.
Studio's interface makes it easy to tell what groups you will need. Look under the Import button, and you will see a small box with the shaders that are in the .package. Yours shows two shaders Dropshadow and Phong. The mesh group using the Dropshadow shader must be a plane. If it is not, Studio will have trouble with it and so will the game.
Also, when returning with a new issue for the same item, it's better to make a new post rather than editing your first. It makes it difficult to follow the conversation if replies to you are not separated by your post with the new issue.

I ended up completely recreating a simpler version of it, after staying up til after midnight trying to fix it lol. Something about it just didn't want to load right. I changed everything I could think of that might be making it look wonky, but it still kept showing up weird.

Again, if you assign a shadow group cut number to a 3D mesh this will have the result of applying what is supposed to be a 2D shader to a 3D item. Studio is not going to deal with that gracefully, and the item isn't going to look right in the game either. Next time, if you prefer, you should feel welcome to post the updated item that's giving you trouble rather than struggling with it for hours. Then someone can help more with it

Hey OrangeMittens! Thanks for the help. I somehow missed your reply before. That totally makes sense that it was thinking it was the shadow plane thing! I did exactly that- changed the cut number and had meshed part of it with the shadow plane instead of the object.
I am still such a newbie that I practically have to read everything you guys say 20 times before I understand all of it. So glad this forum is out here. Thank you for your patience and assistance! :-) I'll make sure to post separately next time and to give more info/details as I update. I have a newer version of this project I'll probably be posting tomorrow with followup questions... too tired tonight lol.

Hey orangemittens . I'm trying to convert a bunch of lounge chairs using the new base game one from the Island Living patch, and I'm getting this same error when trying to replace the meshes in Blender. Does my Blender need an update? (Blender 2.70a) Or am I doing something wrong? I'm copying and pasting things from one blender file to another, which I usually don't do (I usually import .obj files and work from there). Could it be that some rigs or other components/modifiers are also copying over?
