Introduction
This tutorial will show you how to change a CAS full body item so that it will show up in the top section of the CAS catalog and open the top catalog if it is clicked on in CAS. The same method will work the other way around so if you want to use a top and bottom mesh to create a full body mesh you can do that too. It will also work for changing full body items to bottom items.
What you will need
Sims 4 Studio 2.3 (Flora) series or above
Instructions
1. Select Create 3D Mesh
2. Select the item you wish to clone 3. Click Next
4. Click the Categories tab
5. Click the Outfit Type dropdown 6. Select Clothing Top
7. Select a Sub Part Type that suits your item 8. Click the Meshes tab
9. Export your mesh and make your edits 10. Import the mesh back to the .package - note, in order for Studio to correctly update your .package to Top from Full Body you must perform the categorization step BEFORE the mesh import
Save your .package and check it in the game. It will now show up in the Top category and if the model Sim is wearing it and the player clicks on it the catalog will go to the Top section instead of the Full Body section.

Hola!

Hi leosimslover...welcome to Studio forums!
Yes you can use a top and bottom mesh, combine them, and then recategorize the resulting garment as a full body outfit. You will need to include both a top and a bottom if you want a full body outfit. If you don't have both top and bottom in your full body outfit the part that is missing will appear invisible when your Sim wears the garment in the game.
If I misunderstood your question please post again.

Hello orangemittens! I am leosimslover!
Thanks for the welcome given to the forum of The Sims 4 Studio and respond as soon my question.
Yes you understood my question!
I'm the one who has not understood what you tell me in your post! : P
First of all I must confess I try to do what you did in this tutorial but I did not go well, blouse appeared again in the category of Clothing Complete and not in the category of Top Clothing, I guess the reason which does not achieve do it is because I don´t know how to do the classification stage before importing the mesh.
The second is that I have no idea how to join the meshes of the top and bottom of the garments to create a full body garment, I suppose I must select and export the meshes of both parties and unite with Blender or other 3D editing program to create a full body garment.
If I managed to join the meshes have the same problem like not being able to realize the stage clasificasión before importing the mesh.
My request is if you can tell me how do I perform the stage of clasificasión properly and give me an idea of how to join the top and bottom to create the garment full body and selecting the corresponding body parts the garment in question?
If you could do a tutorial for both requests would be great, but could no problem! The body parts that I wish to join are the top and bottom of the naked male clothing to create a close fitting as those used for swimming integrally.
Forgive my message is so long and thank you in advance all the help you can give me!
Greetings from Costa Rica, Central America!
Hola orangemittens! Soy leosimslover!
Sí has entendido bien mi pregunta!

If I misunderstood your question please post again. Hi orangemittens, first thanks for this, I was thinking about it for some time how to do it. I started an item and had to divide to use the naked bottom and top as base. It worked separated but when I join the mesh in blender and deleted the double vertex still in CAS it gives me a different color between the head and the body (check the change in the neck): I have no idea how to fix this. There is not RLES, so what can be causing this? Bad meshing joining? (I tried doing with the mesh of the swimsuit but even when I deleted the RLES, the shadows, etc, the shape of the mesh limits on the back showed :/ so I gave up using it). Thank you so much.

The difference in color is a known issue with Studio top meshes. Once objects are in the plan is to address this problem. Many people don't even notice it but I understand that some people do and definitely it isn't something we want Studio to be doing.

I found out a way through by looking at somebody else package that didn't have a RLES I think and had same mesh like I did (with the top and body together) but they put a Alpha with a very small line or blank and it worked to keep the difference of color out of the clothing Thank you for answering me. Maybe if we could delete the RLES? or geometry items? Or we can and I don't know we can maybe? We can do it through Sims4PE so is ok. I do the first thing in Sims4PE and then I move to Sims 4 Studio to work on the other swatches. It worked perfectly now! Thank you for this!

itswhatever, you would need to put the item into your Documents/Sims 4 Studio/Mods folder and clone it as custom content. Then proceed with the other steps of the tutorial. allaska, I am willing to look at your .package but I cannot unless you post it.
