Hello Feyona! Thank you so much for your help. I've changed composition method to 0 and tattoo looks great :D and to answer your question, I saved texture in .dds but thank you for letting me know that .png works better

My first every tattoo creation MisterS I'm making a full body custom body tattoo for the first time and was wondering if it possible to make a transparent tattoo although it shows in the S4s studio the way I like for it to. In game it still show quiet opaque by a lot. verse the screen of the studio. I've spent a good few weeks getting this tattoo ailined up and with other parts of the body to look continuous through out the body. here are some screens of testing for the first time in game. the result I'm looking to get is the one in the studio but the test in game is clearly some how different. although I know the alpha has some to do with how light transparent the tattoo will show or dark but I would think it would be just be as like as the one in studio? is there some thing I'm missing? I'm also saving this as DDS at the moment to and I use Photoshop for creating it my self.

The alpha has everything to do with transparency white will show full colour black will show nothing at all., any shade in between will show transparency. In your case the alpha would be too dark. Best way is to come one shade darker than white in the colour pallet and go from there.

Best way is to come one shade darker than white in the colour pallet and go from there. so the darkness for the tattoo right now is about 80-85%dark so in order for it to be light in game I should make it whiter like 50% between

No start of just off white and work your down, you dont need much to get transparency. If you wind up on 50% so be it, its just trial and error, been a while since Ive been in CAS.

Ok I have a question. I am using Paint Shop Pro 9 and I also have GIMP. When I clone and export the textures for the tat i get a one layer RGB image and I don't see any other layers let alone an alpha channel. What am I doing wrong? I exported it just as I would any other textures I was going o recolor...to my knowledge that is.

I was able to get this to work out pretty well. However, I had trouble removing the white lines around smaller version of the tattoo... I'm quite ok with them being there as it's one of the few times something went right for me! When I followed the directions the otter sort of got watered down or started fading out. Smaller size like trying to fit it on an arm or something was just not possible to get to look good. Is it possible that the choice of tattoo could make it more difficult to remove the lines? as you can see... it looks better on the male back as it's a large canvas to work with...

wanted to Thank you MisterS for the advice On the tattoo I finally found which one works for how transparent I was looking for it was bout 80% dark but I looks how I want now. it nicely transcends for all skin types like I want but I did notice one things about the tattoo's when making them is that when I created mine over a female template it not the same size for male template as it for the female and in the male in photos hope I had to extend it in few places I'm guess the size difference of the sims you test it out on I notices but I make it finally where I it will fit both male a female sims so this makes me happy.

Is it possible to make a tattoo for the face? In the Sims CAS, there are no tattoos for the face (at least for Males). I want to make a tattoo for the face. How would I do that? I want to make a scar tattoo and I can't find it flattened out, so I want to create it myself. Is it possible? Thank you.

rosethesimmer143 I would suggest using either face paint category or skin details (right mole, left mole, freckles) for scars or make it for both categories. The thing is when you choose tattoo in CAS, sims turns to you the side where tattoo was placed. Let's say you decide to clone tattoo on the back for face scar. When you choose that tattoo, you will see the back this is how tattoos are programmed to be shown. You can turn your sim and check the face but agree that it's a little bit inconvenient.

havefaithinsoccer you should be able to open the package in sims4studio and click on categories. make sure female and male are ticked and at the bottom make sure that restrict opposite gender and restrict opposite frame is not ticked. That should work
