Introduction
This tutorial will show you how to remove the light from a lamp. If you're looking for a tutorial on how to make a lamp and/or fine tune the light it makes there is a tutorial for that HERE.
The lights in most lamps are located in the Light resource which you can get to in the Warehouse. At least some outdoor lamps also have lighting effects located in their shader data. If the lamp you're working with has that shader data it will also have to be deleted in order to make the lamp stop lighting up altogether.
What you will need
Sims 4 Studio
Instructions
To remove the light from a standard lamp:
Click on the Warehouse tab and click the Light line on the left. On the right click the Edit Items button on the Lights line.
The next screen will show a list of the lights present. Click the remove button to delete them and then Save.
For most lights that will take care of things. For those with shader data that provides a light effect do the following:
Click the Model LOD line on the left. Click the Edit Items button on the Meshes line.
Scroll down until you see the Material section. Click the Edit Items button on the Entries line there.
Click the first MaterialSetEntry line on the left. On the right Click the Edit Items button for the Material/Items.
Click through the Shader Data lines on the left and remove the ones that are related to light effects.
Repeat for the other MaterialSetEntry.
Save the changes you've made. Then repeat this for the Model too.
If you have any questions please post them in this thread.

Is there a way to make ceiling lights show permanently? They fade away when you zoom in close, same happens with trees, I think. I cloned the lights to have some balloons at ceiling height, but I don't like how they disappear up close.

Thanks for the tutorial. I´m currently creating a new candle mesh and I would love to know how to change the flame. Unfortunately my new mesh doesn´t fit the height and position of the EA mesh I cloned.

Do you mean you want to move the location of the flame? Is it a single candle? If yes to both the way I do it is clone the Candle's Crib and replace it with your new mesh. Next to move the flame location go to warehouse tab then the rig - bones - edit items. The one you want to adjust is the _FX_: Position. To just move it up/down change the Z location use - in front of the number if moving down, if moving up just enter in number. You can take a look at my Thanksgiving candles HERE to see how I have it changed.

The base mesh also has four flames so it should work the same way with just a bit more work to do, right? Thanks a lot. It´s great that I can use your Thanksgiving candles for reference. Edit: Well, apparantly not. There´s only one rig entry so its not possible to change the positions of the four flames separately.

There is a way to move them. What is the base you used?

A tutorial needs to be made on how to move candle flames. So many people have asked about it. I've always assumed it's not possible to make a mesh using multiple flames at custom heights. If it is i'd love to know how as well.
